Rockers Arcade Fire have accused a TV network of using their music in an advertisement without permission. The band claims their song No Cars Go was used in a commercial for the NFL, which was aired on FOX TV during the Super Bowl half-time show on Sunday.
Advertising time during the Super Bowl half-time show costs around $100,000 per second. The band's representatives are said to be looking into the matter. (This news article provided by World Entertainment News Network) |

It makes sense. I was actually shocked when I heard "No Cars Go." Because if anyone knows Arcade Fire, there's no chance in hell they would use their songs for advertisements.
But as a fan, I'm secretly enjoying the exposure they're getting because of the ad. Their album, Neon Bible, was one, if not the best album of 2007.

personally, they deserve the exposure. MTV/VH1 no longer plays music videos and top 40 radio isn't going to play Arcade Fire, so they need to get their music out, YouTube isn't the be all, end all
