Irene's name is one of two names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!
Ask Irene anything. And away we go.... My questions: 1. How did you get interested in studying paralegal? What are some of the challenges/privileges of this career choice? 2. Would you like to marry your longtime boyfriend? If so, how do you envision the wedding? |

*Tries to think of things he doesnt know about Irene...........*
No doubt that you go to LA quite a bit, what OTHER big cities have you been to, and which is your favorite? Do you ever feel as if you're missing out on something by mainly working from home, or does the closeness to your family make it worthwhile? What TV show compares closest to your real homelife? I know you collect Asian art, as i do, what Asian country would be your first choice if you won a free trip to the Orient? What do you enjoy reading , when you want to relax? |

1.How did you get interested in studying paralegal? What are some of the challenges/privileges of this career choice? I wanted a career in law enforcement actually. I came close, but it didn't happen. So the next best thing was to be in law. I went back to college. The privileges of this career choice is that I can now do this from my home. After injuring my back, it allows me to do this at my convenience. When I worked for a handful of attorneys, the privileges there was always having an attorney on hand for personal matters. Meeting a diverse set of people and also seeing people at their worst, made me realize how lucky and blessed I was. The pay was great too.2. Would you like to marry your longtime boyfriend? If so, how do you envision the wedding? We were supposed to have gotten married in Hawaii this past August, but we still have issues that I was not comfortable with, that we needed to work on (and thankfully we are). I don't want a huge wedding. Just a family gathering. I had been married before and to me, the whole big wedding thing is done and over with, as far as I am concerned. I'd rather use that money to go on a great honeymoon trip. |

You seem to get my sense of humor, but we dont necessarily agree with movie opinions, what up with that? WTF??? That is all you have to ask me? j/k I love your sense of humor. I think our age difference may play a part in our difference of opinion regarding movies. Someday, you will be my age and you will like what I like.

No doubt that you go to LA quite a bit, what OTHER big cities have you been to, and which is your favorite? I have been to San Francisco a few times, I visited Seattle in 2005. I of course have been to Las Vegas. We passed some large cities on our drive to Seattle, including Oregon. My fave large city is San Francisco. I absolutely love the diversity and of course, CHINATOWN! ![]() Do you ever feel as if you're missing out on something by mainly working from home, or does the closeness to your family make it worthwhile? I miss being out in the actual workforce sometimes. I miss meeting new people and helping out people. Of course being at home gives me the opportunity to be a mom, especially to my little boy. He came along when I was at the most depressed time of my life and ever since then, I have never been bored. I get comments from my friends saying how lucky I am to be able to be home and be a mom. I see all my son's accomplishments and can be there for him. I can volunteer at his school, etc. What TV show compares closest to your real homelife? In some ways, Roseanne is someone that I can identify myself with because of how she tells it like it is. Roseanne didn't believe in spanking her kids, that is something I can totally identify with. Although, my son gave me at least two reasons where I had no choice. Also, get this, The Cosby Show!!! Yes, having a father who was loving, hard-working and very relaxed, that was how my dad was. As for my family HERE RIGHT NOW, me and my boyfriend are Doug and Carrie from KING OF QUEENS, hands down. If you want to see how we are at home, just watch that show!I know you collect Asian art, as i do, what Asian country would be your first choice if you won a free trip to the Orient? Oh wow, that is a tough question. I have always wondered where I would go. I think it might be Hong Kong. Large city, like San Francisco, is what I like to visit. I would love to visit the water gardens, really any kind of gardens. I love gardens and water, especially together. I'd love to visit the Great Wall of China. OMG, that would be awesome. I would try and chip at the wall and take it with me. I take a rock from every place I visit. Wanna see the large rock I took from the Grand Canyon? Ssshhh, wasn't supposed to, but I did. ![]() What do you enjoy reading , when you want to relax? Oh I love garden magazines. Especially anything that has to do with landscape makeovers. I also love travel magazines like SUNSET. I like to plan for up-coming vacations or just get ideas for future travel. I also love to read the newspaper. |

FAMILY TIES FOREVER
Is there any pre-salted food or a food you put salt on once that you didn't enjoy? I know you like salt. Hmmmm, I am trying to understand your question here, is there any food that no matter that I put salt on it, I still didn't like it? |

What is your favorite movie? Oh my gosh, so many. But the first movie I really ever enjoyed through and through and to this day I can watch over and over again is JAWS. When I got my first VCR, that was the first movie I ever rented. It was also the first movie I bought on VHS. I then bought the collector's edition version of it on VHS. Then, of course, I bought it on DVD. I still watch it on television when it airs. One of my other fave movies is MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Very exciting movie. Intense and frightening too.Favorite tv show? I LOVE LUCY ![]() Favorite episode of your favorite show? The episode where Lucy dances with Ricky after losing weight. I love the dancing scene very much. It's a toss up though, I also love the episodes that take place in Hollywood. Favorite character on of your favorite show? LUCY RICARDO What's the happiest moment of your life? Giving birth to each of my children. I suffered from post partum with the birth of my second daughter, but it didn't overshadow the feeling of having another daughter. What's the saddest moment of your life? It's a toughie. The death of my mother or the death of my nephew. Although each death was unexpected, I was 6 years old when my mother died after a fall. I was too young to comprehend the loss, though I knew she wasn't coming back. It didn't hit me until I was about 9 years old. My nephew's death was horrible for me. I was 21 years old. He was only 12. He died from injuries in a car accident. Although he was my nephew, we grew up together in the same household and so in my heart, he was my little brother. I never ever want to experience that feeling of losing someone so close to me who died unexpectedly. I was devastated. I was depressed, having thoughts of dying, I couldn't function. I cried for months. I didn't socialize and barely ate. It was almost like having lost my own daughter. It was terrible. Favorite song? Oh man, this is hard! Ok, I will try and answer with one song only...it's a toss up between Barbra Streisand or Madonna. Ok, I will choose *drumroll* THE WAY WE WEREFavorite band? I will say KC and the Sunshine Band because they were the first band I liked growing up. Favorite food? Spaghetti and meatballs Favorite board game? Growing up it was LIFE. Favorite holiday? It has to be Christmas because everyone gets something and I love giving gifts. It is also family time. Favorite sport? Baseball...L.A. DODGERS ![]() Do you have a pet, and what's his/her name? I have a male pug. His name is Duke. I also have an aquarium full of fish. They have no names. ![]() Favorite movie actor and movie actress? JOHN TRAVOLTA baby! Fave actress would have to be Sally Field. I have many, but she is incredible. What kind of a computer do you have? Compaq Presario...had it for over 4 years. Do you have a dream car? I have dreamt abt owning a 70's blue Corvette. Growing up in that era that was some kind of car. It still is. It just screams "DRIVE ME DOWN PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY"
