They aired this episode last night and it is still as funny now as it was during the first run and many reruns later.
It kills me everytime I see Shirley with that man eating mud. And I just noticed last night, the man in that scene is wearing a piece on his head to make him look bald. I have no idea why that was necessary for the character. It was an awful looking piece too. Too fake. Laverne's lack of sleep experiment is even funnier. That guy wants to make out with her... God, he is gross looking.

I LOVE that ep, it's one of my all time favorites! The girls really seemed to hit their stride with physical comedy in Season 3.
BTW, the guy with the fake bald head is none other than Harry Shearer; David L. Lander's and Michael McKean's partner from their "Credibility Gap" days. Harry Shearer was often the voice of Mr. Shotz over the loudspeaker (the photo of the dour looking founder of Shotz Beer that hangs in the break room is that of Anthony "Tony" Marshall, Penny and Garry's father) and he also played the roving report who interviewed Laverne and Shirley on the street in the Season 3 episode "Bus Stop". I guess TPTB wanted to make sure that the viewers would be able to differentiate between two characters. Also in the episode "Bus Stop" was Christopher Guest, Michael McKean's former roommate and future collaborator for "Spinal Tap", "The Big Picture", "Best in Show", "A Mighty Wind", and "For your Consideration" as well as other projects. ^^^^Thank you for all that info. I have been a L&S fan ever since the 70's but there hadn't been any reruns for YEARS here so now that it is in reruns on a local station, I am thoroughly enjoying the show once again.
![]() I really need the DVD's.

Harry Shearer also plays the English editor in chief/creator of the rag magazine Star Peepers in the Season 7 episode "Star Peepers".
