Default When texting is soooo important

Yesterday afternoon, i was picking up my sisters from their high school, and of course traffic was pretty heavy as i was driving towards the school. Well, this one girl was jaywalking and as i was driving she just walks out right in front of me on the road with her head DOWN texting on her cell phone. I had to stop right away and i felt like getting out, taking her cell phone and snapping it in half

So basically yeah, i'm tired of these kids (this has happened more than once) walking out in front of a moving vehicle looking down at their cell phones while crossing a busy street. If i would have been multitasking like a lot of people seem to do, i would have hit her. These kids need to realize that a cell phone is NOT important enough to put their lives in danger like that. Who else experienced people who thought their cell phone is the most important thing in the world?

i HATE that so much. im a kid so i see first-hand, there are kids who seriously do not put their phones down for 2 minutes through-out the entire school day. i despise it when people cant put their phones down for 5 frikin minutes - especially if your trying to hold a conversation with someone and they're just sitting there texting away. or if you're out to dinner with a big group and someone is texting during dinner. it's just like...is it THAT important?

im a kid who has a cell phone and i dont text that often at all. its a burden to me, because its extremely annoying to do.

lol. i admit i'm a text-aholic too, but...that i hate. kids need to pay attention cause it's annoying.
it's not just when they're texting either. i'll go pick my sisters up from their schools and they'll just jump in the street and not pay attention because they're talking or texting or whatever.
did they not learn to lift their heads up, open their eyes and look both ways? lol.

I've never understood this texting craze. Personally, I hate it! It's a pain in the arse.

You have a phone right there, just F****** call them!!! /mock outrage. I still think it is stupid, though.

I know, some people text like crazy when they can easily just call somebody. I am guilty of texting too, but i refuse to text when at dinner with a group of people, when i am crossing the street, driving, and other obvious things that would either be dangerous or rude, i avoid. These kids (and adults) need to learn some manners when it comes to phone etiquette. Maybe they should give a class on that in high school, but then, i guess the kids would be texting during the class too much to pay attention

I am in college, another thing i see that is ridiculous is students who text the whole time the instructor is lecturing. My parents pay for my college, and my tuition was over $1,600 this semester. I am not about to miss a thing my instructor is saying so i can text message. If i knew my kid was texting in his college class as well as failing, i'd make him learn to pay his own way.

Lol, that reminds me of the other night when I was eating at Joes Crab Shack. I saw a family of 5 people, a mom and a dad i assume and 3 kids. The oldest son (looked about a teenager) was sitting there with an ipod in his ears THE WHOLE TIME. His mom or dad or the waiter would try to talk to him, he'd have to keep taking them out his ears. Does anyone know there's a time and place for electronics anymore? lol

Oh my God, I can't stand those people. I'm one of those students that sit in the back of the class and I swer every class there are a few people that sit there and text the duration of class. In one of my classes, I sat behind this chick that was talking during a test. I don't see the point in going to class if all you is text people. You can't possibly learn anything.

Mmmmm I love Joe's Crab Shack. Deeelicious food indeed.

I don't get the big deal with having an iPod in one's ears EVERYWHERE either. I have one but I use it in my car. I don't take it with me in public, I mean, just like a cellphone, who needs to have those things with you ALL THE TIME? I don't get it. Does it feel good to have earphones in your ears constantly? Does it feel good to chat with people abt virtually nothing while trying to do your business? When I leave the house, I don't want to talk to people on the phone. I have things to do. Leave a message on my voicemail at home and maybe I will get back with you.

It's amazing how many adults have the texting addiction too. I'm always surprised when I'm on the plane how many people are texting and talking right up until the flight attendants have to come and tell them that the captain has already asked that everything be turned off in preparation for takeoff. Then they open their phones two more times after that as we're taxi-ing out. Then of course as we're coming in for a landing their hands are in their pockets and purses, and the minute...the absolute minute the wheels touch the pavement people are on their phones. It's crazy!

Yeah, everytime i go to the airport to pick up people that have flown in, i always see people exiting the plane with cell phones on their ears or in their hands. They can't wait a single minute to start talking on them.

oh, and another thing on this topic...in high school and in college...when i exit class, most of the people (haven't even been one foot out the door) are reaching for their cell phones and having full conversations on them by the time they are out of the building. I'd say over 50% of the students in the classes. Then, what really really really pisses me off, is when they get in their car with the thing attatched to their ear, then drive off half-a** paying attention to anyone else on the road. I heard California will be passing a law on cell phones while driving? I sure hope so, because then maybe there's a chance on my state and every other state getting the law too. There is absolutely no need to be chatting on your cell when driving, even for an emergency you can still pull over anywhere and talk.
