I think we can all agree that of the three original movie series, The Bad News Bears go to Japan was definitely the weakest of them. I've only seen that movie once, and I have to say that it was definitely my least favorite.
I think among the many reasons people don't like it, one reason is because unlike the previous two movies, the film did not come down to a big game climax showdown at the end. If I recall correctly, the Bears and the Japanese Little League team did attempt to play the game at the end but it started to rain. And unlike in Breaking Training when a premature ending to the game was continued by chanting LET THEM PLAY! which allowed the Bears to come back to win the game, the Japanese team didn't seem enthusiastic to brave the rain and finish the game, IIRC. But I'm still curious at how at how much of the game was played, and what the possible outcome could have been if the game wasn't interrupted. Can somebody with a tape/DVD of the movie or someone with a good memory confirm: 1. What was the score at the time of the game when it was interrupted by rain? 2. In your opinion, which team would have won had the game not been interrupted? Also, can somebody verify this as well. If I recall correctly, the game wasn't even played at a baseball field but in a parking lot? Am I correct? |
