Default Would Lucy have been a bigger star than Ricky?

I think so...if she had taken that offer she got in California I think she would have been the big celebrity in the family. I guess that would have been a whole different show though, wouldn't it?
I think it's a shame she didn't have it in her to take that offer and a shame that Ricky, Ethel and Fred didn't make it easy for her to take it either.

I love how Lucy really does get her chance to be a star in the hour shows when she lands the job on The Paul Douglas Show. Then after having a taste of that, she realizes she doesn't want to be a star after all LOL.

Probably as a comedian...recalling the episodes 'Lucy gets in Pictures', 'Lucy's Italian Movie' and' Lucy writes a play' among others...all we got from her was an example that 'Lucy' couldn't do drama. LOL

Oh yeah, those are great. Those are some of my favorite Lucy episodes.

But she wouldn't have DONE drama or SING, she would have focused on her great COMEDY and at least HER you could understand so she would have been a comedic superstar and she would have been a huge HIT all over the US while Ricky still did his BONGO thing in New York's Tropicana night club.

I often thought Ricky was threatened by his wife's ambition.

Everyone knows how much unknown women in their mid 40s who can't sing or dance are in such demand in show biz. They suddenly become stars. Just like....maybe an example will come to me later.

thing is, we saw Lucy Ricardo actually be good at certain things, be congratulated, and then quickly Ricky forgets that she was good at certain things and insists she has no talent

Oooooo, good observation. Never thought of that.

She did prove her comedic talent when they offered her a contract in Hollywood after that "dummy" performance.

Heck, she was offered a contract when she was offered to play Ricky's father in "The Talent Scout"--ya know, the one where she has that full beard glued to her face?

Some people seem to forget it was a comedy and a plot device, not REAL life.
