This is in regards to Days of Our Lives. Days of Our Lives will most likely be cancelled in 2009 if it doesn't get any help. Many fans think that Ken Corday is to blame. Ever since he became the show's executive producer in 1985, the show's ratings have slowly been declining. This needs to stop. Ken Corday needs to be fired by Sony Pictures Entertainment immediately, and Edward Scott needs to be named the new executive producer for Days of Our Lives. Edward Scott comes with more than twenty years experience on The Young And The Restless. He was the show's executive producer from 1984-2001. During his tenure on The Young And The Restless, he earned 15 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, and five of those Daytime Emmy nominations earned Emmy gold! He would definetely turn Days of Our Lives around, if given the chance to do so. So, if you want Days of Our Lives to continue on the air past 2009, I suggest that you sign this petition. Trust me, Days of Our Lives will continue on the air past 2009 if Ken Corday is fired, and Edward Scott is named the new executive producer for Days of Our Lives.

Even though I don't watch the show, I think it is a shame the way DOOL, one of the great iconic soaps in television history, is being treated so shabbily by NBC. The network has been planning to be soap-free for a number of years now, and Days has really suffered because of this fact. It all began with the cancellation of Another World (one of the best soaps ever) in 1999. To the network, I'm guessing soap operas are just not very profitable and Days is particularly vunerable because NBC does not own the exclusive rights to the show, so the profit margin is very narrow...
