TV The New Get Smart (1995)

Have any of you guys seen The New Get Smart from 1995?

I wouldn't mind seeing it, just to see what it's like.

I saw it, Max and 99 didnt do a whole lot, mostly it was their son Zack, played by Andy Dick....the only shows that were as good as the original were the last 2 with Seigfried (played again by Bernie Coppel) and his daughter!

I saw it too. I have the episodes on tape somewhere, although I wasn't able to record the last one that aired. The best one was definitely the episode with Bernie Kopell.

Yeah I've heard it wasn't that great. (obviously only 7 eps were done) I read on the WYB... site (I think it was) that who ever thought Andy Dick looked like Don and Barbara needed their eyes examined! LOL

That's a shame though that Max/99 weren't focused on it much...

But I saw some captures from the show a couple nights ago and I just became more curious.

I'm not sure I like the idea of their son being in it, well at least Mr. Dick as their son, esp without the sister!

Don was in every show as the new Chief, Barb on the other hand was working elsewhere and was only a part-time spy, if at all (She did mostly cameos on the show)

Sometimes you just can't go home again. I loved the original but I didn't even give the new show a look. I knew it was going to suck.

I think i remember that she was still a Congresswoman, as in Get Smart again, now that i think about it!

I didn't think she was a Congresswoman in the movie, she was writing her memoirs and then became reactivated just like Max, who wasn't the Chief, since CONTROL hadn't been there for 15-20 years. He was working for the state.

That's okay.

I wasn't saying you were wrong. I just never thought about it I suppose.

Here's a clip from You Tube......it's amazing how little Barbara had changed in 30 years

Yeah, I've seen this a couple times. And yes. Not to mention just the short 6 years (lol) from the tv-movie (1989) to the new series (1995).

And in one of the "99" videos, at the very end they have a clip of her from the movie and then a clip from the new series back to back. Not much difference what-so-ever!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE0s_xEGRmo -- this is the one I'm talking about

I read that it was so bad that midway through it; Andy Dick signed on to do "NEWSRADIO" when he relaized how bad it was.
