And skipping college for that matter. Carl and Harriet usually stressed the importantance of a college education. So it surprised me when Eddie wanted to be a cop and to drop out of college, Carl was proud. It made it seemed like Carl wanted him to be a cop all along. Personally, I didn't see Eddie as police material because he was so off track. They didn't even show him going to the academy.

Ok, after watching this morning's episode, they DID showed him coming from graduation of the academy.

I think that he was proud that Eddie wanted to follow in his footsteps. Carl loved being a cop and since Eddie wasn't doing well in college at least he wouldn't be throwing his life away. I think that it made Carl proud when Eddie told him that he wanted a job that he could work with people that he could admire, and make a difference. In the earlier episodes Carl asked Eddie if he wanted to be a cop and Eddie said no. He wanted to be a model.
