Default Sweet Daddy's blood transfusion

The blood type that Sweet Daddy needed was U-negative. This is a real blood type only found in African American people, and is very rare. I wonder if the writers knew this was a real blood type or if they just made it up for a joke and didn't know it was real?

In the episode...

Sweets: I need U-negative

JJ: You positive?

Sweets: No, U-negative

JJ: Are You positve?

Sweets: I'm positive, U-negative

JJ: Who's on first?

Interesting.

I thought it was O negative.

Anyways, how did you find out this information?

I am sure with all the researching the writers did to come up with those statistics they threw in left and right, they must have found that information along the way. There is that episode abt James' supposed hypertension, so I guess they had their sources for medical information.

I guess Good Times meant business when they were doling out all those statistics, medical advice and so forth.

What can you say, it was men who produced that show. Men are good at preaching.

The statistics are what I always found soooooo unrealistic abt this show. We are all educated people here, but I don't go around spewing statistics! I don't know anyone who does.

That episode still carries the orignal CBS warning "Due to Mature Themes, Viewer Discretion is advised"!!
