Default What happened to Chrissy?

No, I don't want to rehash the whole Suzanne Sommers firing drama. I was just wondering if there was ever a good explanation given on the show for Chrissy's departure. Did she go home to her parents? I remember on her last episodes she was only on a few minutes talking to Janet on the phone. I think Chrissy was mentioned briefly when Cindy became a roommate but I dont recall if any mention of Chrissy was ever brought up on the show after Teri moved in.

I was thinking about this while watching Janet's wedding on the last episode. Considering that Chrissy and Janet were roommates and best friends for many years, you would think at the very least an explanation would be given why Chrissy couldn't make it to the wedding. I get the impression that the bad feelings from Suzanne Sommers' departure in real life was reflected in the show by completely ignoring her character. As far as I know, Chrissy was never acknowleged; it was like she never existed..is that right?

You're right, there was no final sendoff for Chrissy. I guess we assumed she went home to care for her sick mother and never came back. As far as I know, she was never mentioned after Cindy's debut episode.

She was still on the tags at the end of certain episodes but they were cut for syndication except for a few that aired on N@N. The last time she was mentioned was when the Ropers visited later in the season.

I think Cindy's last name, Snow, was never mentioned either, once Terri moved it. Talk about damning the memory!

(By the way, "Janet Wigs Out", Cindy's last (dis)appearance (in anger), was the last episode taped in the spring of 1982, although it wasn't the last to air in season 6. Somehow that makes a difference... Otherwise it seems Cindy vanishes mid-season).

(And I don't think the Ropers were mentioned ever again after "Night of the Ropers". Before that, though, Furley's skills at home repair and life are compared sever times to those of the former landlord.)

You are not kidding. With the way Suzanne, Jenilee, Ann, Norman, and Audra were treated, I'm suprised that Joyce was stunned with the way she was treated at the end of the 8th season. Just look how bad the above actors/actresses were treated by the Producers of the show.

It was pretty clear from the outset that the producers saw John Ritter as the star of the show. John's contract specified he made more money that either Joyce or Suzanne and I'm sure that Jenilee and Priscilla being new would have gotten less anyway.

They obviously felt that John was the money man, as they planned a spinoff around him. However, I think that they underestimated Joyce and Priscilla, because the audience didn't take to Three's A Crowd, which lasted only one season.

I'm not surprised they never mentioned Chrissy, because of the ill will felt towards Suzanne Somers. But I don't feel sorry for her, because she brought it on herself, her huge ego being fed by her husband/manager. Any other manager would have been fired after such a fiasco. I guess love conquers all, including careers.
