My memory is a bit fuzzy on this, but I recall a guy getting into an altercation with another man after a traffic accident, and getting shot a couple times. The guy who was shot manages to get into his car and drive away and reaches home and his wife realizes that he was shot multiple times and calls the paramedics and I think the guy dies at or on the way to the hospital. Does anyone know any specifics on this case or if someone was apprehended?

The victim's name was David Hurley. If I remember correctly he was to leave on a Boy Scout outing and couldn't sleep so he was going to go buy some donuts. I believe he said the shooter was a black male in a champagne colored car (can't remember what make). David later died in surgery. I don't know if anyone was ever apprehended, it would be interesting to find out. Such a senseless crime...

This one also reminds me of the guy that was spotted on the side of the road talking to a bearded man with glasses and then the guy shoots him and the man leaves the scene. The man who was shot got back in his car and called 911--I believe UM played a segment of the call--very chilling. I think he may have been a teacher. Does this ring a bell?

The one with the teacher was profiled on America's Most Wanted as well.
They didn't even have enough information in the David Hurley case to be a sketch of the suspect. A shame. |
