Does anyone remember the name of a case where a wanted fugitive watched his own segment on TV, then gets arrested, and proclaims "UM his favorite show on TV."
I think it aired on the early NBC seasons?

I could be wrong here, but wasn't that Jerry Strickland?

I never saw the segment (or at least I didn't see it when it first aired), but I got the information from the book Total Television. |

From memory its not Jerry Strickland, while he and Missy Munday did watch the UM segment, he never said it was his "favorite show". What he did say was "I'm the guy you want" and surrendered himself to authorities.
He also later was quoted as saying that he was innocent because they only have "circlestansive evidence" against him. |

Ahhh, this is tricky. It was Strickland - though not directly. In one of the "recaps" Stack said something to the effect of "one of our profiled fugitives said Unsolved Mysteries was his favorite show". The voiceover was done over footage of a handcuffed Strickland flanked by police officers. So, we can assume Strickland said it. Although he certainly did NOT make such a comment in his interview on UM, nor was it mentioned in the update about his arrest, to my knowledge.
