Linked Together

This is a dramatic sitcom about a group of adult Michigan strangers who are all linked together, yet manage to live their lives through each of their many everyday trials and tribulations. Starting off with the newly divorced, Terri Langman (Catherine Keener), who has just recently been inspired by her therapist to re-enter the dating realm after have been going through a messy, long divorce with her cheating bastard ex-husband. Terri remains close with her only son, Jason Langman (Eric Christian Olsen) who plays the "rock" in Terri's life. Jason isn't too fond of seeing his mother off and dating, but feels for her after witnessing the horrible divorce that his dad put her through, and feels that it is time to see Terri become happy and fall in love with someone. Although, Jason's good-hearted, honorable side is just a part of him, as he does have an unethical, unhonorable side to him. Jason is currently and secretly betraying his longtime best friend, Tyler Brandt (Channing Tatum) by Jason having an on-going affair with Tyler's gorgeous fiancee, Claudia Nolan (Rachel Bilson). Jason and Claudia have been having their secret affair for the past six months and getting pretty good at hiding it and keeping it a secret from Tyler and everyone. Tyler's favorite uncle, John Brandt (Bryan Cranston) and his wife/Tyler's aunt, Brenda Brandt (Ann Cusack) are very close-knit with their nephew, Tyler. When Tyler's parents moved to Florida a few years ago, John and Brenda stepped up and played "surrogate parents" to Tyler. John and Brenda have no children of their own, which causes them to see Tyler as like "one of their own" in a way. In the recent year, John and Brenda's once-happy marriage has sort of started to dwindle down and about to shatter. John and Brenda are on the verge of a divorce, yet still trying to make their marriage work--which often times distances them even further. John's been having a secret affair with his mistress of two years, Nina Davis (Juliette Lewis)- who is a former exotic dancer-turned-cocktail waitress at a sleazy stripclub that John secretly frequents. From a previous "relationship", Nina has a five-year-old son, Aiden, who is left to be raised by Nina's upper-middle-classed parents, Steve and Sally Davis (Ted Danson, Diane Keaton). Steve is a successful and prestigious Assistant District Attorney, as Sally is a registered nurse-who works with and best friends with Terri Langman. Ever since Steve and Sally have taken on the roles of legal guardians of their grandson Aiden, things between Steve and Sally are not as great and happy are they use to be. Now, both in their late 50's, Steve and Sally are having problems trying to raise a toddler, while trying to balance their careers, their marriage, and while trying to enjoy their "golden years". Watch how these nine Michigan adults handle life and life's everyday trials and tribulations on top of their other dilemmas, secrets, and stressful situations.

Default Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Terri decides to go out on her first date as she re-enters the dating realm, after 25 good years, much to Jason's dismay, at first. Elsewhere, Brenda suggests couples therapy to John, who agrees to attend, but ends up not showing up and running late at "work" (means actually means his visiting Nina at the stripclub)--thus causing Brenda to feel embarrassed and upset with John. Meanwhile, Jason and Claudia's torrid, secret affair continues, but is almost caught by Tyler, but much to their happiness, he doesn't catch them. Also, Steve and Sally experience a few troubles with their conflicting careers and trying to raise their grandson.

Ep2: Almost At Wits End:
Sally turns to Terri for parenting advice when Aiden continuously refuses to quit throwing tantrums in public, after having been years since Nina was that age. Elsewhere, Brenda confronts John about him missing yet another therapy session, and is about at wits-end when John just shrugs it off and half-heartedly apologizes. Brenda turns to Tyler in hopes maybe he can talk some sense into his uncle, as a last resort. Meanwhile, Claudia and Jason's spontaneous rendezvous in the parking garage at the mall in the backseat of Jason's jeep turns out to be a bit awkward for the horny yet paranoid couple.

Ep3: Lovin' Lady Luck:
Claudia experiences her lucky day when she wins a radio contest with a prize of showcasing her art pieces at a very prestige and sophisticated art gallery. Claudia becomes nervous and experiences cold feet moments before leaving for her big night, but is calmed down and reassured by Tyler and Jason, whom are accompanying her that night. Meanwhile, Terri gets Sally and Steve to double date with her and her date with local plumber, Mike (James Pickens Jr.). Mike and Terri's date turns out great, except for Aiden's babysitter calling Steve and Sally home early due to she can't handle Aiden and his behavior. Elsewhere, Nina decides to "cheer up" John by giving him a private peepshow in the backroom of the stripclub, but this time the two will be joined by Nina's stripper co-worker, Misty (Elizabeth Berkeley) who won't stop until John is fully satisfied, thus causing a rivalry with Nina for John in the meanwhile.

Ep4: Behavioral Incidents:
Aiden throws yet another public tantrum while out grocery shopping with Steve, who is fed up and out of frustrations just leaves him pouting on the floor in one aisle while he goes and finishes rest of his shopping. After checking out, he goes back to get his whiny grandson, but he's gone...causing Steve to panic and fear someone took him. Steve calls an equally panicked Sally to come and help him look, they end up finding him up front holding hand of a judgmental store manager, who Steve gives him a piece of his mind after insulting their parenting methods. Elsewhere, Terri finds a girl's thong in Jason's dirty laundry bag, as he brings over his clothes to get washed while he fixes Terri's car, who is curious who the thong belongs to. Jason lies and says he doesn't remember, even though he knows that it is Claudia's. Also, Brenda and John decide to plan a special getaway for their upcoming anniversary (both thinking it may be their last secretly).
