like the 80's stuff, HATE the 90's stuff with a fiery passion. He completely jumped musically, although I did like "Can't Stop This Thing We've Started" from 91.

yea, he went a little too far into the Michael Bolton vein after "Everything I Do" (yea, I know Heaven was a ballad too, but he was still mainly rock). I've heard his recent material has been back to basics but I haven't heard anything new from him since the mid-90's.

I can't stand "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?". I run screaming from the room whenever it comes on. I own the greatest hits - So Far So Good, and it's awesome. The post-1991 stuff is not included.

I'm not a big Bryan Adams fan. I've always thought he sounded sounded like a soft rock version of Def Leppard (probably the Mutt Lange influence). However, I do like his song "Heaven".

I really liked the DJ Sammy remake of Heaven as a high energy dance song.

Sammy Hagar??

Here's some info about DJ Sammy I found on Jim Vallance's website (he co-wrote Heaven with Bryan Adams):

Heaven

Recording Artist: DJ Sammy and Yanou Featuring Do
Writers: Jim Vallance
Bryan Adams
Date Written: 1983
Albums: Heaven / 2001 December
Charts: After entering the German, Spanish and Austrian charts in January 2002, DJ Sammy's version of "Heaven" eventually appeared on a total of 19 national charts, some of which are noted below:
#1 - UK Chart / October 31, 2002 (entered chart at #1)
#1 - South Africa Airplay Chart / 2002
#1 - Australia Aria Dance Chart / 2002
#1 - Billboard Club Play Chart / USA / 2002
#3 - New Zealand Top 40 Chart / September 2002
#3 - Ireland Top 20 Chart / November 2002
#4 - Australia Aria Singles Chart / 2002
#5 - France Single Chart / 2005
#5 - Netherlands Single Chart / 2003
#8 - Billboard "Hot 100" Singles Chart / August 2002
#12 - Netherlands Mega Top 100
#16 - Spain Top 40 Chart / January 2002
#24 - German Top 40 Chart / January 2002

Awards: 2002 - ASCAP Pop Award / one of the most played songs on U.S. radio
2003 - ASCAP Pop Award / one of the most played songs on U.S. radio
2003 - Socan International Achievement Award (Canada)
2002 - Silver Disc Award / UK
2002 - Platinum Disc Award / New Zealand
2002 - Gold Disc Award / New Zealand

Originally written in 1983 for the film "A Night In Heaven", the song "Heaven" later appeared on Bryan Adams' Reckless album (1984). That album, and Bryan's "Heaven" single, both reached #1 in the USA and Canada in 1985.

I was quite surprised the first time I heard DJ Sammy's "dance" version of "Heaven" on my car radio in April or May 2002. I didn't even know the song had been covered! At first I thought the heavily synthesized arrangement sounded dated, a throw-back to the mid-80s production style of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. After a few listens however, it began to grow on me.

Adams and I traded emails during the summer of 2002, incredulous as the song climbed higher and higher on the U.S. charts (it eventually peaked at #8). Then, in the autumn of that year we were delighted to see the single reach the very top of the UK charts -- in fact it entered the British charts at #1, a rare occurrence.

DJ Sammy's version of "Heaven" also charted in Canada, Brazil, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and a dozen other countries.
