the light of the TV? Last night My lamp fell off the table and wouldn't work and I had to sit in my room with just the light from the TV the rest of the evening. That was very difficult for me because I don;t sit in a room with just the light of the tv until I go to bed. Not at 7pm in the eveing-lol
Who else find it hard to sit in a room and watch TV with just the TV LIGHT?? |

I like it that way. There is no reason for the light to be on unless I am going to read, and why would I read if I have the tv on?

I do that all the time. If I can't sleep, I'll turn on the TV in my room and lay in bed watching something.

I hate that!
My ex always wanted to watch movies with all the lights out. I fall asleep no matter how good the movie is within 15 minutes when its like that. I need at least one light on. We now have these "salt lamps" that stay on all the time pretty much (they're on timers) so that has helped. They give off a soothing, amber glow so it's not too bright, but enough I won't fall asleep. lol |

Instead of telling us 5, 10 or 20 posts later. There is a difference between having the light on so you can eat vs. just watching tv.

I have a lamp on in my sitting room when i'm watching tv etc..
It would be depressing if i had all the lights off and just the tv glare's! ![]() In my bedroom though if i'm watching tv in bed, i have the lights off, but if i'm just about to drift asleep i alway's make sure i turn the tv off standby, i'm like that with everything.

Lights on, of course. Who wants to sit in or walk around in the dark. It's lights out when we put a movie on, but I can't even imagine sitting in the dark. Growing up, I had a friend, and I hated going over her house. I think they kept the thermostat at 60. Their house was always cold and dark, and so depressing.

When i first left school my first job was a cook in a care-home for the elderly, anywoo, there was this one old lady that lived there and she was constantly in the dark 24/7, she would never let anyone turn her lights on, and in the day she had her curtain's drawn, dark heavy curtain's they were. She was a sweet gal though!

Once I am in my bedroom to watch tv and hopefully to fall asleep, the lights are OUT. No need for more lights on. I can see fine in my bedroom with the tv light. In the living room the tv is usually the only light glaring in there since we have a large aquarium and that in itself has a light. Sometimes the light coming from the kitchen/dining room area is enough light for us. I cannot stand having lights on while watching television. Unless we have company over or I am working on the computer, there are no lights on.
It is not like we are in the dark and we cannot see anything else or fall over anything if we walk around. The tv is huge enough to emit enough light. |
