I did ask this question before but I got only one response, albeit a good one. So, hoping for more responses, here goes again..... If Harold Hecuba were to return and the castaways decided to put on a version of "Romeo and Juliet" (should be underlined) this time, could you cast the roles for them? Remember there are only 7 castaways and numerous roles, so they can't fit them all. Thanks again. (Please reply if you can).
P.S. I apologize for my inadvertent "double post" on the pairings earlier. I was editing the typos. |

Let's see: the leads are rather obvious because of their ages, and their natural innocence. I can even see Gilligan and Mary Ann in the same costumes Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey wore. Gilligan might be a bit nervous about all the kissing, though.
This would make the Skipper the obvious Lord Montague, as he would be playing Gilligan's father. The Howells would make good Capulets, as both parents have major roles in the play. Ginger is a bit of a problem, since she's too young to play either of the mothers. She could play the nurse, in a sort of a big-sisterish way, but that role doesn't really seem to suit her either. Could she put on a doublet and play the fiery Tybalt? We do need a villain! And finally, the calm and wise Professor seems a shoe-in for Friar Lawrence. This was fun! Anyone care to try for The Tempest? |
