When I was 19, 20 years old there was a guy at college I liked. He was into Amway and they had Amway meetings on campus. I went to a few with him and even went to one off campus with him. He was totally into it but those meetings were SO BORING. Janice, those meetings were a great cure for insomnia. I could even feel my eyes glaze over. Long story short, he started seeing one of my female classmates instead of me! I was so crushed - but then he dumped her rather coldly a couple of weeks later. I never saw him again when I was done with college - thank goodness!

I did learn a big lesson, however - don't pretend to be something you're not. Be yourself.

Something similar to your story. There was this girl I had liked, I met her through a friend. Anyway, she wasn't interested in me, (according to her, she loved being single) but I continued to persue her anyway. She was a shift manager at McDonald's, and i used to come up there and sit for an hour or so while she worked. I was trying to make her feel really important, but I really liked this girl. I even wrote a love letter and handed it to her and watched her worked. I did it for about 2-3 weeks until I gave up. But you can't tell me she loved the attention I was giving her.

I never could find anyone my age that i could be in a relationship with that had things in common (most were into immature teenage hormonal stages), so if a 20 something year old showed interest in me, I'd lie about my age (my age was about 16, 17). I never did it to get them in trouble, its just i knew that if i told them my real age, they probably wouldn't give me the time of day. Gotta tell you though, it worked

Dumbest thing I ever did in the name of love? I was in my early early 20's and I had been dating this guy for a few years. He wasn't my first boyfriend but he lasted longer than the rest and as we got older we became more serious than I had with anyone else too. Well I should be ashamed, but I'm not because if it wasn't for him I probably would be in some messed up dysfunctional relationships for the rest of my life. The dumb thing I did was overlook and excuse everything. Lying, cheating, overall bad attitude. He'd admit to all of it when confronted and I'd take him back all pathetic and teary-eyed on his promise not to do it again. When he finally decided to dump me it was just a week and a half later that he got married (poor girl...at least I didn't fall that far!). I knew he was sleeping with other people but I had no idea any of them were "serious" enough for him to marry. I'm so glad that happened to me though, because honestly, it made me realize what a healthy relationship is and that it's ok to be me, and ok to expect someone to love me exactly the way I am, and it's ok with me if that does or if it doesn't result in marriage.
