Default Anyone know the story behind the odd connection between the ending of season 4 and

the beginning of season 5?

Remember the end of season 4 when will told uncle phil that he wasn;t coming back and then in the beginning of season 5 you see will in philadelphia and then some NBC guy throws him the NBC van and the show starts off a new season like nothing happened?

This is because the show was cancelled after season 4, but fan reaction and letters written to Will Smith and NBC persuaded them to renew the show and it ended up continuing for two more seasons.

Well they were actually going to end the series like that?-lol With Will saying-"I'm not coming back"

That's not the reason I believe. They've always had the season finales like that, just in case they were cancelled. It would act as a series finale and season finale at the same time. Then, when they learned they were coming back for a fifth season, they changed the ending around, and brought Will back, continuing the show.

Not sure if that's the actual reason, but I believe that's what I've read in the past.

I remember a guy saying to Will you have a contract and it says Fresh Prince of Bel-Air not Fresh Prince of Philadelphia, then grabs Will and throws him in a car.

Then when he gets back to the Bank's house he says Im home.

That scene is not on N@N maybe it's on TBS or I will have to wait until the DVD comes out

You are correct. That scene is on the TBS reruns for sure. I am not sure about Nick at Nite.

I watched every ep of this show on TBS during its first run of syndication on the network in 1999. I know TBS had it until about 2002 and got it back last year. So, speaking from experience and a shelf full of VHS tapes, TBS is the way to got if you want decent syndicated eps of this show.

I figured that, what about the scene when Carlton and Will are listening to ashely on the intercom say she will have sex and they both start screaming while facing each other. Then they both turn toward the camera and scream again. I know N@N cut to a commercial before they turn toward the camera screaming

Right you are. I hated it when I first saw N@N cut that scene short. Will's screaming there is hilarious.

By the way, if you are still on as of now (11:55 PM Eastern) check out my post on the Season 5 thread and give me your opinions please. I'm about to head to bed so answer quick if you can. Thanks.
