I often wondered what direction My 3 Sons had gone had Bub[Bill Frawley]stayed on the show.It wouldve been interesting to see how Bub wouldve handled Ernie's adoption, etc.Any thoughts on this?

Its really hard to say. I liked Bub but I also liked Charlie even though Charlie could be a little on the cranky side at times. I wonder how Bub would have gotten along with Barbara & Dodie?

If Bill Frawley had lived that long he would have been 85 when the show ended in 1972. That would be quite old for a regular on a tv series. I liked both Bub and Charley but the show did decline somewhat for me in the final three seasons what with the triplets and Steve re-marrying. JMHO of course.

I agree, the last 3 years were'nt very good. Robbie was gone, and I just never cared for Dodie. I was hard to watch Ernie grow up, he was a much better actor when he was younger, same as "Beaver". I like Both Bub and Charlie, they both were different but both added greatly to the show.
