...about cast changes on shows; what shows added to the cast over it's run and the character or characters stayed with the show for the rest of it's run? The ones I can think of are:

"DALLAS"-when Jim Davis was replaced by-oh, what's his name? I can't think of it. Anyone? (it doesn't count when Donna Reed replaced Barbera Bel Geddes, because later Bel Geddes came back)

"STAR TREK: VOYAGER"-when Jeri Ryan replaced Jennifer Lien.

Howard Keel came in as Clayton Farlow on DALLAS. Jim Davis who played Jock Ewing, died in real life and Mr. Keel came later into the series.

Howard Keel, THAT'S IT! I knew he was a star of some old musicals; but I just couldn't remember his name. Thanx!

(for those who may not know; he made some musicals in the 40s for MGM)

I remember once, when we were talking about old movies at dinner, and my mother metioned him and I said that he's on DALLAS (which was still airing at the time) everyone in my family thought I must be mistaken, or it wasn't the same one.

Frasier joined the cast in season 3, but didn't become a regular until season 6.

I didn't know abt his musical career until years later. I thoroughly enjoyed his role on DALLAS. He fit perfectly. He had some big cowboy boots to fill, but he did it and he held his own.
