Default Something happened to me in a store today that never happened in my entire life

I had $32.00 in my wallet and went to buy lunch at this store across the street from my job and my total came up to $8.00. So I took out a $20 bill and handed it to the lady and was expecting $12.00 change back. The woman put $1.95 on the counter because she said i gave her a $10 dollar bill and I said that i gave her a $20.00 I never had a $10 in my wallet, only a 20, a 5, and 7 one dollar bills totaling $32.00. So I was going back and forth with the lady and she SNATCH the 10 out of her hand and said-"F*CK the food because it was no I was goig to eat after being jammed for $10.00

So they told me to come back when the manager of the store returns which was close to 7pm, so I'm still at work now and headed back over to the store to see if I can get my 20 back. I just can;t beleive a store can be this desperate for money and will try and steal from customers like this.

part of me think I will just have to move on because they don;t want to give me the money and probably told me a fake time and if $10,00 is really that important to them then it's not worth me going to jail over because I was so close to CHOKING the lady when this happened

Wait, she gave you back $1.95??? That is still wrong. If she thought you gave her ten dollars and the food cost $8, it should have been $2 back.

As for the cashier not paying attention, she was wrong obviously. However, the manager will have to count her drawer and make sure the drawer has $10 more than it should have. When I was a manager, I had that issue come up. This customer complained that he was short-changed $5.00.

I counted the drawer immediately and discovered it was $5 plus. I apologized to the customer, who was very nice by the way, and I told the cashier when she got the bill in her hand to say out loud "Out of $20" or "Out of $10" and leave the bills on top of the register until the change was given, this way you are announcing to the customer how much they gave you and the cashier covers their a$$. If you place a $20 bill on the cash register, you won't have a customer tell you they gave you a $50 instead.

This is what she should have done.

Oh hell no, I would have demanded to speak to the manager. Your time was wasted having to go back and get your money because of their employee's mistake! I WANT ANSWERS!!!

Mistakes do happen, and that's probably how this mess started. I just don't think they were out to steal your money. For starters, she would choose her 'victims' more wisely, and wouldn't pick on someone who's 6'5". I just find it insane that she basically threw you out of the place. I thought managers were always on duty, especially at the busy lunch hour. I think she took $10 out after you left, to cover her mistake.

The manager probably doesn't know anything about it. It sounds like she was trying to cover her ass.

I agree, I don't think it was purposeful, however, the way they handled the situation was not right.

I never thought about that sonny-lol I don't think she expected me to come back 5 hours later for $10. When she saw me she probably was like-"OH MY GOD HE IS SERIOUS ABOUT THIS $10"

LOL

I love how you just described that!! I can really imagine in my head that look she gave you. She has to be nuts if she thought someone would just forget $10. ********!
