TV Jamiee Foxworth on VH1's Celebrity Rehab...

Did anyone catch this new reality show on VH1? I caught it last night and Jaimee Foxworth is one of the celebs who seeks to rehabilitate herself from her addiction.

She talked abt smoking marijuana several times a day, sometimes every hour, every day since she was 16 years old. They showed her with her friends and she was smoking for a home video camera.

She is working with Dr. Drew Pinsky at a Pasadena facility. Other celebs include Brigitte Nielsen, former wrestler Chyna, Jeff Conaway from Taxi and a few others.

Oh No

What a shame. She's about my age, too, which makes it even sadder.

It is sad, but hopeful, considering they are there on their own will, knowing they need the help. They are ADMITTING they have a problem. That is the first step. This is the kind of facility that celebs need to attend when they have addictions. Not those fancy places like PROMISES, that only promise you will return when you return to doing drugs or alcohol. Rehab is hard work. It is not abt playing tennis or relaxing in the sun.

A key factor in her smoking was that she was fired from FM, she was very depressed.

You can't blame a tv show for her drug problem. She also blamed her parents for accessing her $50,000.00 trust fund, money she earned from being an actress. A judge ruled her parents could use that money to help them with their financial issues. She had no skills other than being an actress. Well, you know what, many people lose their job, they sometimes have to start at the bottom, but most of them don't turn to drug use.

I am not finding fault with her, I am merely saying to place blame on losing her job on a tv show, is something that many addicts do. They place blame on others and not themselves.

Glad to see she is getting herself better. Her mother appeared on the show as well.

Well, she shouldn't have lost her job in the first place. They couldn't develop her character but they could add people like 3J or Greta. That's B.S!

That's so sad about Jamie. I hope she can beat this addiction.

Family Matters could have expanded her part though. They didn't even try. They had her paired up with ritchie when she should have had more dialogue with Laura.

And she went into porn too.

Well, Irene, I actually blame the show for her terrible years. Some people can handle losing a job or being turned down like that without doing drugs or becoming promiscuous or anything like that, but Jaimee obviously couldn't. Maybe her parents didn't help either, but I really blame the show the most.

By the way, when was her mother on the show?

I'm sitting home and flipping through the channels and I was SHOCKED to see her on this show. I was wondering why in the hell would she be on this show, And now I know.

You are so right she has no one to blame for her addiction but herself. There are plenty of people in this world who have lost their jobs, cars, homes and family all at once, and they do not turn to drugs. They might get depressed but they don't turn to drugs. So you can't put blame on others.

Really now, even if other people wouldn't have started with drugs and porn because of this, Jaimee obviously did. She was thirteen or fourteen years old, a very sensitive age, and they treated her like crap. It's no wonder that she got depressed, and when some people are depressed, they might do stupid things. If only the people behind the show had been able to work on the Judy character, Jaimee's life would have been so much better.

Jaimee is not placing the blame on others though. Furienna is. Jaimee knows like so many other people in rehab YOU CAN'T BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR ADDICTION. Once you accept that fact, then you can begin the road to sobriety. Having had someone in my life who had an addiction, and going to Al-Anon for almost a year to better understand the trials and tribulations of addiction (drugs or alcohol) I know that blame is the game that addicts do. They blame their families, their spouses, their friends, their lack of work or not finding work, they blame the system, they blame EVERYBODY BUT THE RIGHT BODY: THEMSELVES.

It is good to know Jaimee is not blaming the show (Family Matters) for her fall, but the fact that she had decided to make choices at a desperate time in her life that led her to rehab.

I know, I was just reiterating what you were saying in your post. It just sounds stupid to blame someone else for your problems or your addiction, and SOME PEOPLE just don't get that.

It's like if someone works at Target, they've been working there for 10 years. They know the attendance policy but yet they've been calling in for every week so eventually they get fired. Now who’s to blame? Target for firing them Or the individual to blame for getting fired?

Oh yeah, I know you agreed with me. My post does sound like that, sorry. I was merely adding to what you and I were agreeing on.

Can you imagine every employer worrying abt how someone is going to take the news abt them being discharged? Ridiculous. Like the producers at FAMILY MATTERS owed Jamiee a load of gratitude and keep her on the show merely to avoid any problems she may have. She was an actress. The show no longer needed or wanted her. They made the mistake of creating that character and had nowhere to go with it. Sorry, but that is show business and many actors and actresses know the business can be fickle. Jaimee was a young girl and didn't know, but she had family and they should have steered in a better direction with her education. Her family had financial problems and resorted to using her $50,000 to save themselves. Sounds like her family was not too astute.
