This past Saturday night (January 5) the TV series Body of Evidence aired an episode about the 1988 murder of Lisa Kimmell. As one might have expected, Lisa's mother Sheila was interviewed. However, she is not happy with the way the episode turned out, and is considering taking legal action.
It appeared that series star/criminal profiler Dayle Hinman was involved in the investigation of Lisa's murder. But this was contradicted by Sheila, who said that Hinman did not contribute to the solving of Lisa's murder. The following link contains an article on the topic. http://www.billingsgazette.net/artic...30-kimmell.txt |

Oh Gosh - Here I go!!! I am on a rant about this production. This is such a sham. (I wasn't going to bring it up BUT kane - nothing get's past you!
) Okay, so here's page 2 - the rest of the story. And I'll try not to "rant" for too long. First - I have some very strict criteria under which we will agree to participate in such programs. It's hard, each and every time we share Lisa's story but we are willing to do it IF it educates law enforcement, advances the forensic sciences (including the "soft sciences" such as criminal profiling) and accesabilty to it. We also hope to encourage a bridge to close the juristictional gaps between cities, counties, state and even developing a univeral communication system so criminals can be caught sooner. We want to offer hope to others that have cold cases that with the technology today that they may one day find their answer, too. Then, without question, if there is ever a time we can help console another victim of a violet crime, or just the grieving process, we will do so without hesitation. Also, please be aware that we have never been paid a dime for any of our media appearances or speaking engagements. With that said, when Body of Evidence called me I agreed to cooperate with the filming given the assurance that my criteria was in sync with their program format. I also told them because Dayle Hinman had never worked on the case, that I wanted that made clear to audience. If it was prefaced as a case that caught Dayle Hinmans attention and wanted to revisit it to see what we could learn from what was done in 1988 and compare that to what we know now would be something I could embrace. Regrettably, it didn't turn out that way, nor were our wishes respected. To say they least, I feel used, above and beyond being lied to. I spoke out because I feel I have moral and ethical obligation to the public to be truthful with them. This program is a out and out sham. For those that have seen it - Dale Hinman had never set foot on that bridge until September 2007. Greg Cooper only offered an opinion as it relates to the question if Dale Eaton fit the profile of a serial killer for my book with information we provided him the summer of 2004. Ron Walker did the FBI profile in Nov. of 1988 The list goes on and on. But I have ranted enough. But I do have say that truTV that touts they are " not reality but actuality TV" is a big lie and deception. This is closer to garbage you can read in the National Enquirer. But trust me I am NOT done with this yet and going to do everything I can to have them withdraw this program. Wish me luck. New Name for me when it comes to this subject............... RantOnGirl aka Sheila PS For those of you who haven't seen the program I would suggest you not waste your time! |

I can certainly see what you would be aggravated with the program Sheila. It does sound like a sham. I would say a lot of us aren't big fans of that particular show. It seems there's a thread voicing our complaints on the True Crime sub-board. You'll have to keep us updated and let us know if you're successful in getting them to pull the program. You go girl....
