How to undo the damage to fried hair

i've been straightening my hair for months and all of a sudden, one side is becoming fried. i bought this spray to use BEFORE straightening my hair to prevent it from frying but how do I undo the damage already done to my hair?

any help is appreciated

shampoos and conditioners won't help all the way, they will help a little bit though. The best thing to do is get a good over $100 ceramic straightener, i noticed they dont fry my hair as bad as the cheap ones. Also, for a quick fix, use hair serum when you straighten your hair. Garnier Fructis, paul mitchell, all those brands are good when buying a serum. Use a little on the side of your hair thats fried and rub it in, it'll calm it down.

My hair used to be quite damaged too. I started conditioning and deep conditioning it a lot and got as much as the damaged ends cut off as I dared every month or so. Eventually all the damaged parts were gone. As far as flat ironing, be sure to put something on it before you blow dry and flat iron it to protect your hair from the heat. I use Silk Therapy by Biosilk and it is excellent.

I don't have any opinion about Pantene personally but the girls that does my hair says it contains wax and that is why it makes your hair feel soft...it coats it with wax. Do with that info what you will, just wanted to pass it along.

My hair was once destroyed by an insane hairdresser. I tried every product I could get my hands on. This was the only one that worked for me. The serum is what did the trick, but their other products worked great too.

I agree, serums (I have used that one you posted Janice) or even an intensive reconstructive product. When I used to be blonde, I kept my hair from damage by using an intensive reconstructive product that I was directed to use. It was sold in a store that specialized in hair care products only. You might find a brand name that sells something to that effect. Mainly, you want to do some kind of deep conditioning on your hair once a month to help diffuse the problem from getting worse as you seem to use hair styling tools.

You have a good memory, Irene. I pulled up my horror story here. I lost half my hair, but the hair that was left was destroyed, just burned to shyt. I remember I used a lot of those deep conditioners, the kind they sell in individual packets. I used hot oil treatments. I spent loads of $$. It was that Frizz-Ease that made my hair normal. After my ordeal was over, one of my co-workers had her hair burned by a perm, and I gave her what I had left, and it worked for her too.

Yep. That's the story. Wow, it still is harrowing to read that and know that can happen to anyone of us. I think that is why I rarely go to a salon because I fear they will mess up somehow. Yes, it is hair and it will grow back, BUT!! it can take a long time and in the meantime you have to walk around feeling like sh*t. hno:

My hair grows slow, always has, and even slower in the winter. I had strings of damaged "hair", if that's what you want to call it, lol. It was probably the most traumatic experience of my life, with the exception of losses and that sort of thing.

Yep - the John Frieda Frizz-Ease or Thermasilk's version is also pretty good. Concentrate on the ends of the hair.

ALWAYS use a protector spray when using the flat iron.

Failing that, you'll need to get the split ends cut off. I'm going myself next week.

That's pretty much your only solution. Most products won't fix the damage, just sort of glue the broken parts back together and wax the hair strand down. But if you do buy some moisturizing products, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra on salon stuff, not the kind of stuff you buy "over the counter" so to speak. That cheaper stuff puts layer of wax on your hair and just masks the damage, making your hair waxy and unmanagable.
