Default BrianDamage I'm Gonna See A Doctor About My Brain Problem

I'm gonna schedule a appointment probably in June because i gotta get my car fixed soon. I'm gonna have a doctor run some tests on my brain to see what's wrong. I'm glad i have health insurance because i've never had health insurance before because i never had a full time job until now. I also did some research about a learning disability and the stuff i read is definitely what's wrong with me. When i started having problems in middle school and high school, i should've known something was wrong but i was embarrassed to ask a teacher or a doctor for help. I'm very lucky i graduated from high school because i really didn't deserve to graduate. I didn't have a clue what i wanted to do for a job career after high school and that's why i went through the motions of just getting a job to survive. I lost a lot of jobs in the past and that lets me know that something is wrong. My previous jobs i had were low paying jobs and that's why i haven't been able to live on my own. The job i have right now is the most money i've made since i've been working. I be wondering why it always takes me so long to get a job and that's because my employment history isn't good because i've had too many jobs.

BrianDamage i told you i wasn't making this sh*t up that something is wrong with my brain and it's hard for me to figure things out. All this stuff i told you should show you that i'm not lying about my problem. I live with my parents and i'm afraid that if they die before me, i'm gonna be homeless and being homeless scares me. I want my own place but it will probably never happen. I hope i can qualify for a disability government check because i got some information sent to me from a law firm about lawyers who help people who have a disability. I'd rather work than get a free government check but if i'm not mentally able to work, then i have no choice.

Question

If you have health insurance then why wait til June? I can understand needing to get your car fixed but that shouldn't prevent you from seeing the Dr. now unless you have a high deductible or something like that. I don't mean any disrespect but if you really want to find out what's wrong then you should schedule an appointment ASAP not 5 months from now.

I don't make a lot of money at my job so that's why i'm saving money to get my car fixed. So that's why i said i would see a doctor in June. I need several car repairs taken care of and car repairs are expensive.

Is there an Employee Assistant Plan at your work that you know of?

No offense isiah, but you stated you live with your parents. I don't know what your situation is, or your financial arrangements, but shouldn't it be easier to to save up for your car repairs being that you live at home?

I don't see where you'd be 100% incapable of finding a job even with a learning disorder. Heck, you can spell and my dad works with people who can't spell for crap and can barely read. You can read and write; that's a major plus.

GarfieldKool iam saving money to get my car fixed but like i said, i don't make enough money at my jobs so therefore it's gonna take me awhile to save because car repairs are expensive. I need a alternator repaired, shocks repaired and something else done that i can't remember right now. I was at the gas station a few days ago and my car wouldn't even start. When i tried to start it, it wouldn't come on at all so that's why i know i need the alternator fixed because if it was the starter, the car would try to start. I didn't even have enough money on me at the time when the car didn't come on so i was lucky that i was able to get it to start. When i get my paycheck, most of my money goes towards music cd's, movies, food from the grocery store, car insurance. I don't even make enough money to buy clothes often and that's a problem because i don't have any casual business clothes to wear to job interviews. I don't even have casual business shoes for a job interview. I need to buy a cellphone just in case my car breaks down but i don't have enough money to afford that and plus i don't talk on the phone often so i figure i don't need a cellphone. I got a 2nd job doing office cleaning that i wanna quit because the money is sh*tty and i've been working 2 jobs since i've been outta high school and i'm tired of having 2 jobs. I want just one job but the problem is there aren't any job careers that i like except music and movies. For me to get in the entertainment industry, i would have to move to New York or Los Angeles and i don't wanna do that because those cities are overcrowded and i don't wanna live in a city where there's a lot of people. Every job i've had has been boring to me and i really hate hard labor jobs because the work is hard and the pay is minimum wage.

I'm really disappointed in myself that i let my grandparents down because i didn't do anything with my life when i lived them. I couldn't keep a job and i never had a good paying job when i was with them. Every car that i've had, they bought it for me because i never made enough money to buy a car myself. I remember one time i bought a sh*tty old car from this black guy i used to work with and i shouldn't have bought the car because it was a piece of junk but it did get me back and forth to work for awhile until it broke down. I bought that car from him because i was desperate for a car because i hate riding the bus. I should've gotten help from a doctor when i kept losing jobs and i was only able to get minimum wage jobs through temp agencies. I should've known something was wrong with my brain then but i didn't think anything was wrong. I never saw a doctor because i didn't have health insurance back then. I went to the emergency room one time when my ear was clogged up with wax and when i got the bill in the mail, it was very expensive. I paid the bill but i learned my lesson to never go to the hospital when you don't have health insurance. Another lesson i learned is to never get credit cards especially if you can't keep a job to pay the bills. I had to file for bankruptcy in 1999 because i couldn't keep a job to pay my credit card bills.

Ya'll remember when i posted a topic on here a long time ago about i hate working with ignorant black men? I've had lots of factory and warehouse jobs in Cleveland that paid a sh*tty salary and the black men i worked with were very ignorant because they were always teasing and laughing at me. I hate being picked on because i never bother anybody but for some reason i seem to be a easy target for ignorant black men who act like little boys. I had the same problem when i was in middle school and high school. I used to get bullied often and sometimes i felt like dying. I used to complain to my parents often about being teased and laughed at at school. I've been guilty of teasing and laughing at people too but i don't like it when it happens to me. I don't care about people laughing and teasing me now because i'm gonna be myself and i'm not changing who iam to fit in with people. I used to try to talk to black girls so black guys wouldn't laugh at me for thinking i'm a virgin and they thought i didn't have a woman. But now i don't even wanna be bothered with black women so if black men wanna laugh and tease me because i'm single, go ahead. I love black women but they get on my nerves often with their attitudes, being stuck up, materialistic, and having kids so i don't wanna be bothered.

From anything I've read of your posts Isiah, you are an upstanding, intelligent guy who's trying to do the best he can. You're honest and hard working. You could have something like ADD though which makes it hard for you to concentrate on things and complete jobs. This might have been why you couldn't keep one. I have an older brother in his 50s now and he was mis-diagnosed as a boy as having borderline mental retardation (they didn't know about ADD then). Turns out that's what he has, but he's never been able to keep a job either.

Other than that, you can spell and structure a sentence a lot better than people (including executives) I've worked with. Just the fact that you say these jobs are boring is another indication that you're smart. If you weren't you wouldn't get bored.

Is there anything you're interested in that maybe you could find work doing something like that. It might still be blue collar, but at least you wouldn't be bored and that's half the battle with any job.

Didn't you read my first paragraph that i said i was interested in music and movies? I don't wanna move to New York or Los Angeles to get into those careers which is what i would have to do if i got into either one of those careers. I like r&b and rap music and i really hate both of these genres right now because the r&b and rap music that is being played on black radio stations and being shown on MTV and BET is trash to me. I like old school r&b and rap and old school artists back then had more talent and their music was better compared to the new artists now. My psychiatrist told me that he thinks i have A.D.D. but i don't think i have that because i read about it and from what i read, i don't have that problem. I do have a learning disability because i read about it and the stuff i read about is definitely what i have. I keep trying to tell my parents about my problem but for some reason, they think i'm making this stuff up. If i didn't have this problem, i wouldn't be living with them.

Sorry - I did a couple of days ago when you first posted, but didn't for my last post.
Hmmmmm, Cleveland's not the movie capital of the U.S., but maybe you could still do roadie work for a band (setting up and taking down the equipment). I did that myself in my late teens (my brother was in a band so I met people through that). Or even for stage and theatre work - sets and stuff like that. Just a thought.
Do you know the name of the learning disability? I can't see dyslexia - your spelling is fine.
I'm surprised about your parent's attitude. Big hugs!
