Default Series Detectives Charlie Chan, Philo Vance, Lone Wolf, etc.VHS Tape Sets More Detail

Hi,
Thought I would post accurate detail about my old movie vhs Tapes I am trading away. These are my vhs, not copies of copies. All sources were either 16mm film or digital cable recordings. I spent a long time searching for the highest quality copies I could find, but there are always a few titles that just do not exist in high quality. These are not the multiple movie crammed dvd sets that are plentiful today mainly seen on ebay and ioffer. Heck, a lot of the sets out there are far worse or at best, they are generations down transfers of some of the stuff listed below. You would be surprise how small the "old movie tape trading" community used to be! If you love the series detectives of the 1930s - 50s, and you want to see nice quality, these would make excellent source tapes for dvd transfer or viewing.

I am more than willing and would prefer to trade for blanks. Brands are up to you, I mainly prefer TDK, Maxell, Sony, Taiyo Yuden. If you find them on sale, better for you. I am mainly concerned with covering postage costs in trade for the most part. And some of these are quite rare in high quality and I will highlight where indicated. I also had to pay for a lot of these regarding film transfer costs and some were purchased from mail order when I didn't have the film print or it was a rare film!

OK, so here we go:

1. Charlie Chan - approximately 30 vhs in whte clamshell cases with artwork. Included are the very rare "Monogram" Chans which were the later entries starring Mantan Moreland. All are 16mm or better quality including a good batch of digital sources.

2. Philo Vance - all films known to exist. INcludes 3 rare William Powell entries in dynamite quality (Canary, Benson and Greene Murder Cases as well as the Gracie Allen Murder Case). The Benson copy is the best I have ever seen. 12 VHS total (the public domain Kennel is not included, this is easily found on dvd out there)

3. The Falcon starring either Tom Conway or George Sanders or John Calvert, all films ever made total 16 vhs tapes.

4. The Lone Wolf starring Warren Williams among others includes all films except the lost silents, total of 16 vhs does include 1 Silent False Faces and the hard to find Lone Wolf in Mexico

5. The Crime Doctor starring Warner Baxter - all entries 10 VHS

6. Arsene Lupin starring John Barrymore and others complete movie set 3 VHS

7. Boston Blackie starring Chester Morris, all 14 films 14 VHS

8. Rare Bulldog Drummond Films - includes the 1934 Returns, 1934 Strikes Back, 1947 Strikes Back, 1947 At Bay, 1947 13 Lead Soldiers, 1947 The Challenge, later Richard Johnson Deadlier than the male (rare complete version) and Some Girls Do probably about 8 to 10 VHS

9. Ellery Queen Movies - 10 total from the 1930s 40s, rare

10 Mr. Moto - all 8 movies made. Return movie also included 9 VHS

11. Old Mother Riley Series

12. Mexican Spitfire series starring Lupe Velez

13. Dr. Kildare series starring Barrymore

14. Penrod series 3 or 4 VHS total

15. The Shadow - few of the rare entries

16. The Whistler 8 vhs complete

I will come across others plus there are a ton of Sherlock Holmes related rarities, if interested in titles, email me.

Ground rules - I want these to go to somebody else who will enjoy them or who is looking to put them on dvd for themselves, etc. The quality on most is very nice given VHS limits. Remember, nearly all of these films were never on digital media to begin with. They exist only on 16mm film stock for the most part and are not restored by today's standards. As I said, I looked for the highest quality possible and there are more 8 and 9s than 7s in this batch of vhs.

I am looking for a fair trade on these, so contact me withe any wants and offers.

I am not really looking for other dvd sets, my collection is getting in the 10,000s and I am really reducing what I have.
Of course, if you have a rare tv show I dont have, I will always take a look at your list!
