Default Wish me luck, I'm returning to college tomorrow

I have accumulated a little over 60 hours in college in the past, but have decided to go back and finish for good this time. I have serious ADD which has led me to drop out twice in the past, but this time I feel like I'm getting helped enough that I am coming back to stay at the local university (University of Louisville).

First time I attempted college, I was fresh out of high school and I honestly wasn't even in the right frame of mind and only received 11 credit hours after three semesters. But then I returned to a community college several years later and my GPA there was an A-, substantially rebounding my culmulative GPA and allowing me to be reinstated to the old college I went to in the first place.

I know I should be scared, but if anything, I feel the exact opposite, I feel excited for being given this second chance and I will not let myself down because it's been nearly a decade since I first went and a 28 year old's frame of mind is much different than an 18 year olds.

Very true. Except my frame of mind is totally opposite...I'm so tired of school I could scream. lol I should go back I suppose since my current BA is worth it's weight in toilet paper, but I really can't see that it would do any good anyway, and I'm tired of homework and prereq's and all that.

However, since you're really looking forward to this, you should do great! Best of luck. What are you going for?

Best of luck, John. I'm sure you'll do fine, as you seem determined, and that's half the battle. Often times, older students do better (older, not OLD, lol). All the partying and other BS is behind them, and with age comes the realization that it's hard to get ahead in this world without a college degree. You can do this, and you will.

Nah, you dont need to be scared I have found college less intimidating than high school for some reason. In high school my GPA was 2.5 and right now in college i have a 4.0. I think once you get to college, even the second time around, you are more driven to try to finish so you can get whatever it is you want to achieve. I hope you dont become scared or anything, as you are fortunate to be able to go back, some people can't go back cause of lack of money and too many responsibilities. I say, embrace it and do your best

I bet you'll do fine because you're motivated and have the wisdom to appreicate what a wonderful opportunity this is. Good luck, but with your attitude I don't think you need it!!

Talking Good Luck!!

Good Luck!!

For those who don't know; I was going to college but, have decided not to go back. I only did one month; didn't finish the first semester. I don't know if I will ever return or go to another school for that matter. My priority right now is to find a full time job that I will keep for a very long time.

john, you're gonna do fine. you're smart, articulate and motivated. just keep your head down, study hard but also, take regular breaks when studying at home. i understand that it can be a daunting prospect going to back to college, but for as long as you grasp the ideas and knuckle down , you're going to succeed. i've been there and done that.

good luck and i hope it goes well for you.
