The 80's was the greatest decade ever to me! EVERY song released onto radios became a HUGE hit, you could wear all sorts of wild, mismatching, loud, bright colors, and no one judged you because they were all wearing those colors too! A guy could have hair down to his butt and no one thought he was effiminate or gay! It was a fun decade! Everybody had fun, fun, fun! Why else would VH1 air 3 different series of The 80's? I Love The 80's, I love the 80's Strikes back, and I love the 80's 3d? And Kudos to them for airing "100 greatest songs of the 80's!
(Look at the title topic. I am saying that I, Janice Johnson love the 80's. The title topic is not about the show, "I love the 80's".) I am so glad to have been born in the 80's! I am proud to be a literal child of the 80's!

the fashion and hair was exceptionally bad (and usually they went hand and hand, lol), but I love the music, and some of the television.
Classic MTV never gets old, I have several hours of the vintage stuff from traders (I have the first four hours from 1981, a random recording of several hours from 1982 and a few hours from late 1983) and despite being a quarter of a century old, it's better than anything you'll see on that network today. |

Most 80s sitcoms and movies were great too. I'm trying to collect it all. I have no memory of the 80s, being born in January 1988. But i wish i did and my fiance makes me jealous, as he was able to live thru the 80s lol. Oh well, i'm just as content watching it on tv

being born in that decade, yeah, i agree there were some wonderful memories- the music, tv shows, fashion, even the cartoons. i wasn't into the whole new romantics thing though myself and the hair was often, well bad
. the 80s were a fun time, and safe too and being a child at that period, it was just innocent and people having a great time and enjoying themselves. nowadays and the 00s, its not the same- there is just war, fighting, people often taking themselves too seriously and the music, tv, films that are out are just not as good as they were in the 80s. man, i miss the 80s, it was part of my childhood (sigh)

The one thing I liked about the 80s is that it brought the 60s back-Leave It To Beaver, Monkees and my favorite channel NICK AT NIGHT-television in glorious back and white.

I loved the shoulder pads! Really! The broad shoulders made the body look slimmer.

Even though I like many of the movies of the 80's, quite a bit of the music and some of the television shows...and I had a pretty happy chidhood in the 1980's...I've always been more interested in the 60's and 70's.

I was born in '81 and I remember all the cool toys and cartoons and TV shows from that era. I also remember playing outside with friends and having a grand old time. Good times, good times.

The only things I liked about the 80s were:
Showbiz Pizza Place (this was Chuck E. Cheese with different characters on stage and better music, plus they had more games and bigger prizes) Classic Nick at Nite (This is where I first saw shows like My Three Sons, The Donna Reed Show, Make Room for Daddy and The Monkees) Some new shows (such as ALF, Perfect Strangers, Growing Pains, Full House and a few others) As for things I don't like about that decade were the fashions (includes the awful hairdos), the music. That's right, I'm not a fan of 80s music. I like music from the late 50s, 60s, 70s and 90s. Although there are times I miss being a kid, I'm glad the 1980s are over. And besides the couple things I mentioned, this is a decade I never want to look back at. |

^ I remember picking up the Detroit TV station 20 (I'm in the Cleveland market) and they ran an ad for ShowTIME Pizza - their jingle was set to the same tune as the Chuck E. Cheese jingle. We still have a Chuck E. Cheese here; I pass by it every night on the way home from work, and I went to many a birthday party there as a kid. Those were the days!!!!
