What's your favorite season premiere? I haven't seen seasons 9-11, but I think my favorite is The Proposal, followed by Power Play. My least favorite from Diane's era is Birth, Death, Love, And Rice. My favorite from the Rebecca years is hmm The Improbable Dream.
Sorry about the two typos by the way! |

I would say the series pilot, Give Me A Ring Sometime, closely followed by Home Is The Sailor, and Birth, Death, Love and Rice. All 3 are in my personal top 10 favourite episodes. They are all funny, and Home Is The Sailor is almost like another pilot for a new series. Birth, Death, Love and Rice, besides the humour, gets to me for the genuine emotion that both Ted and Shelley display for the now-deceased Nicholas Colasanto.

I dont know for sure but, going by the name, id have to guess that BIRTH, DEATH, LOVE, AND RICE is the one where Sam finds Diane cooking rice in a nunnery; and that was in my opinion the best season openner the show ever had (The worst was when Rebecca took over the bar, Sam came back after losing everything and everything in the bar was changed
)

I really liked The Improbable Dream. I haven't see a lot of the later ones though. Power Play was good too.

Power Play is probably the funniest, though the first 3 premieres were all great. Which isn't surprising - they were the three best seasons, hands down.

I'd go for the pilot... not only is it the best pilot in TV history, I'd also say it would tie I Do & Adieu for my favourite Cheers episode.

I haven't seen all of them but my favorite would probably be Rebound since it introduced Frasier Crane, played by my favorite actor Kelsey Grammer.

It is a toss up between the premiers of seasons 1-5. I voted for Death, Love and Rice but now i'm thinking probably Powerplay. I might change that answer in the near future again. hehehe. Like I said, it is a toss up.
Home is the sailor is an honorable mention because of THE SCREAMING VIKING! I just love that entire sequence! |

I too remember the routine about the Screeming Viking! I thought it was a very creative way of getting rid of the new guy so that good old Sam could get his job back! Very good episode!

Such a clever way of getting Woody and Sam behind the Bar again. I laughed so hard when Cliff came out from the pool room and ordered a screaming viking!
Come to think of it, this episode was so good that I felt the succeeding episodes came to be disappointments to some degree. |

Power Play is my favorite, but Death, Love and Rice is right behind it.
