PIONEERS OF TELEVISION: Sitcoms
Did anyone else watch last night's PBS program Pioneers of Television:
Sitcoms? Great show! I wish I had taped it. They managed to cram a lot of neat stuff into one hour (no commercials): clips and interviews with such stars as Joyce Randolph, Andy Griffith, Jim Nabors, Barbara Eden, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Pat Harrington and Marlo Thomas. |

When was it on? And when are they going to rerun the show?

I watched it last night. It was pretty good. I didn't know that Joyce Randolph was still living. The interviews were great and the no commercials were even better. Jackie Gleason was a comedic genius.

I thought it was ok, but, one hour is too short a time for the subject and it showed...too little info, too few clips, and most of the clips they did show were cut in such a way that you often missed the punchline.
I've seen better. |
