Default Jethrine seemed to vanish into thin air

Whatever happened to Jethrine. Seems like when the show went to color there was never any mention of Jethrine (or Pearl). I wonder if it's because Jethro didn't like dressing up like a girl. I've seen interviews with Max, and he mentions how he got to where he hated the character of Jethro, and I wonder if he put his foot down and refused to dress as Jethrine.

Well, the character itself was kind of ridiculous, I don't recall it being mentioned past the first season (or whenever Cousin Pearl went back to the Hills the last time). I think it was sort of a one-time joke at first that got out of hand, haha, Jethro's got a sister that's as big as he is. Didn't she just elope and they got rid of her that way? Probably with Jasper.

I never particularly missed Jethrine.

Yeah "Jethrine" seemed to be an early first season only joke.
I bet Max Baer, Jr. got real tired of playing her with that dubbed voice and most likely complained to ged rid of her right quick!

I was glad when they stopped doing it - not only did Max probably hate it, but it was just downright creepy too!!

in the interview with Max on the DVD set THE BEVERLLY HILLBILLIES-ULTIMATE COLLECTION-VOLUME 1 he says that he stopped playing her because the makeup was starting to affect his skin. He also says that in the book THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES-A 40TH ANNIVERSARY WING-DING.

And, with Pearl: I saw a color episode once where Elly and Granny went to visit her. They didn't show her; but she was mentioned and in one scene they showed them talking on the phone in her house.

The actress who played Pearl moved over to star in "Petticoat Junction" after the first season or two of Beverly Hillbillies. It was created by the same people and later featured some crossover episodes!

she was also Betty Rubbles voice in "THE FLINTSTONES" for the first couple of seasons, a phone operator on "THE JACK BENNY SHOW" when it was on radio, George Burns and Gracie Allens nieghbor on their radio and TV show, and the wife in a radio show called "GABBYS GREEN ACRES" which was the forerunner of RVs "GREEN ACRES".

Didn't Pearl go back home to get Jethrene married off? For awhile Granny and Pearl were having a contest to see who they could marry off first, Elly or Jethrene. Anyway Pearl came back to Beverly Hills without Jethrene, for the rest of the first season.

And this is when they had another version of the closing credits, to include Pearl, because she was part of "Jed and all his kin" too!

Did Jethrene ever appear again? I know Max Baer, Jr. didn't want to do a dual role on a full-time basis anymore, but I'm almost positive Jethrene made an appearance later on in the run. Am I right?

No she never appeared after that, though she may have been refered to for awhile. Of course her character was reprised in The Beverly Hillbillies movie in the '90's.
