there was this guy that they called Jones on M*A*S*H who was the name of the guy I belive he was just in season 1 of M*A*S*H.

That was Spearchucker Jones who was played by Timothy Brown. I read somewhere that his character was written off the show when it was discovered that there were no black surgeons during the Korean war. I don't know if this is true or not but perhaps someone else can clarify things if it isn't.

he was in the scene where they're having a mock "funeral" for Painless; and he sings "SUICIDE IS PAINLESS"-which, of course, was the theme song too!
