Sandra Clark, no doubt. She was funnier, and was clearly the best actor on 227, especially during the earlier seasons. Sure, she didn't have smarts, but she was beautiful and stole every scene she was in. Didn't she even win an emmy for oustanding actress in the first season?

Yes, Jackee Harry won an Emmy in 1987 for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. I've seen very little of 227 (I should check the DVD set out of the library one of these days), but am much more familiar with her work on Sister, Sister.

Except for Balderman Davis, who often screwed up her name (Wyoming, Wilomena, Pomona, etc.).

I have to admit that I watched a few episodes of 227 back in the day.

As a result I'll have to go with Sandra. Of course, all I really remember about her was that she was a ditz and had a massive head of 80's hair.

I don't much care for Good Times and don't know who Willona is.

I did request 227 from the library (via the online catalog) - when I watch it I'll post my thoughts. You just can't beat the huge 80s hair!!

I knew she was the only one on the show to ever win an Emmy. Check the show out, it's really funny. I'm probably more familiar with her on Sister Sister as well, but she's just as funny in 227, and probably a better actor as well.

Sandra is 227. Notice that 227 went from a huge Saturday flagship show alongside The Golden Girls to being put on hiatus mid-season once Jackee left at the start of the 1989-1990 season.

I always thought it was funny that Marla and Jackee apparently didn't get along backstage because Marla was upset that Jackee took over "her" show, when Marla was a scene-stealing co-star on The Jeffersons herself.

Jackee and Marla Gibbs have since resolved their differences - they even went on a tour together to promote the 227 DVD. Something not a lot of people don't know is that Jackee was one of the first actors to star on daytime and primetime at the same time. When she started on 227, she was appearing on the soap opera Another World (both shows aired on NBC).

I wonder if they've totally made up or if there is still a little tension from the past. I ask this because I noticed that in every 227 "reunion" I saw of the three actresses, even on the DVD, Alaina Reed was always in the middle. The reason a lot of people noticed this is because of The Golden Girls. It's been well documented that Bea Arthur and Betty White hated each other for years and still haven't fully made up. Everytime you see the three healthy Golden Girls in interviews or doing DVD signings or whatever, Rue McClanahan is always in the middle between Bea and Betty.
