In one of the "Quirkiest Stories of the Year" (in today's Parade magazine): "When Debbie Parkhurst of Calvert, Md., choked on an apple, her
dog, Toby, pushed her to the ground and performed a modified canine Heimlich
maneuver, saving her life. 'I'm still a little hoarse,' she said later, 'and I have
paw print-shaped bruises on my chest.'"

I heard about this!! That's just like those dogs you hear about that dial 911 when their owners have had an attack or something and aren't able to call for help on their own.
