At the age of 60, damm is he ever going to be NORMAL on any TV Show?-lol I guess I shouldn't be surprised that his character on this show wasn't laid back and normal

I didn't even know he appeared on this show. However, I do recall him doing a guest spot on the Drew Carey Show.

What doesn't make sense is that Jimmie behaves like that all the time he makes an appearance. So, is that just the way he is 24-7? Or just when the camera is on? If he is going to be acting like a goof on camera, why not just do the DY-NO-MITE thing as well?

That's his schtick, I guess. I'm surprised that Jimmie Walker wasn't more successful after Good Times ended.

Maybe because he showed he was one-dimensional during the Good Times Era. Esther Rolle, And John Amos showed they were able to do serious roles too which made it easy for them to succeed after good Times |

I guess he was a one-note band, but still, other stand-up comics make it, just doing one thing. He was funny, but how many times can you laugh at DYNOMITE!?

That's his persona, and if he was on GL they obviously paid him to play that persona. Why get Jimmie Walker unless you want someone over-the-top?
I heard him doing a radio interview once and he seemed quite different, really. I got the feeling he is somewhat shy and insecure. |

Supposedly Jimmie Walker said in some interview that he never considered himself an actor - just a comedian. He just found his niche and went with it. He's still around and is out on the road with his stand-up act - and since GT has been off the air for almost 30 years now, that's a remarkable feat.

I think Jimmie had enough acting talent to carry his own show, providing he was surrounded with funny talent. Jerry Seinfeld and Drew Carey are mediocre actors, in my opinion. They got an ensemble together, and it worked. If Jimmie's happy with life on the road, that's another story. I just think that for a person who was a real comic force, to be on the road for decades, guest starring on tv shows, I just think he should have been a bigger star. God's honest truth, the only thing I've seen him on since Good Times is The David Letterman Show.
