The proper title of the show is "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." It takes place between the events of T1 and T2, and is not going to just be a cheap remake of T2 like everyone I talk to thinks its going to be. I expect it to be a good show, with decent amounts of action and alot of human drama as well.

Probably not going to watch it....like most other FOX shows, it looks a little too 'edgy', for me.

How so? It's just an action series.

Did anybody else watch the pilot episode tonight? I wasn't even planning on watching this show, but they kept talking about it during the Cowboys-Giants game, so I thought I'd check it out and to my surprise, I enjoyed it a lot. The action scenes were great and though I can't really compare it to the Terminator movies (at least the first 2, anyway lol), it looks like this show will be a hit and I think it's a good replacement for 24.

I checked it out as well and I really liked it. It is going to take some time to really get use to someone new playing Sarah Conner, but overall, I enjoyed it and would sample it again.

I'm a fan of the movie series starring Ah-nuld, but I'll pass on the TV version.

I thought it was a pretty good pilot with a great storyline and decent performances. The show didn't really strike a chord with me though until 15-20 minutes into the show when Chromartie attempts to kill John at his school. They're trying to hard to try to make it emotional---- in the first two films, especially T2---- it just came naturally with the actors. They all knew their characters, knew what they had to do, and knew that what they did would affect the whole world on a large scale at some point in the near future. Heavy stuff. At times the dialogue just seemed wooden, and uninspiring. While the underlying theme of T1 and T2 is hope, a universal message that can appeal to even those who aren't die-hard action fans, the message that I'm getting from THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES is not as pressing. It seems to be running from killing machines... and that's it. Nothing else.

In T2, Sarah Connor was AUTOMATICALLY transformed into a Terminator in her own right: cold, mean, and just seeming like the only reason she wants to stay alive is to protect her son from being killed. The most chilling moment of the trilogy for me is when Sarah is about to kill Dyson at his house. Whereas it is fun to watch a Terminator kicking ass, knowing he has no pity, no remorse, and no fear (to quote Sergeant Reese, "he will not stop, ever, until you are dead!"), it suddenly hits you like a ton of bricks: this is a human who has been dehumanized. But there is HOPE: much like how Terminator and John go to protect Sarah from the T-1000 when she is locked up in the mental institution, they go to protect Sarah from HERSELF at the Dyson house(she has become her own Terminator) before she does something she will regret for the rest of her life. But all of a sudden, she breaks down: she has undoubtedly just gone from emotionless to hysterical in a nanosecond. In other words, she automatically transform from a robot into a human.

I'm not getting those same complex feelings from Lena Headley. She doesn't seem as confused, as battered, as broken down, as hard, as tough as she was in T2. It almost feels like she doesn't care at all anymore: she just wants to keep robots away from her son. But I'm sure the character will continue to develop throughout the series, I just wish that all of her character traits from the first two movies would've stayed with her in this series.

The action was great, though spaced out. The main reason I watched this show was for the human factor, though. Lena still has a ways to go before she perfects the character (and let's be honest, I'm pretty sure nobody can top Linda's stellar performances in T1 and T2), but the show's off on a good foot.

I have trouble ignoring the fact that T3 never happened, however. Just too many continuity errors going on when you compare T1 to T2 to T3 to THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. Then having to completely forget about one of the movies? That's a little too much to ask, especially since one can't help thinking about Kristanna Loken when watching Summer Glau's Cameron take center stage in the series.

I'm not thrilled about a temporal time leap to 2007, and also about the fact that Sarah Connor died in 1997, yet this show starts out in 1999. But then again, Sarah's death is only mentioned in T3, whose timeline we're supposed to forget about unless we want to drive ourselves crazy asking ourselves: "How the hell can that happen based on what we've seen before in the Terminator universe?".

All in all, a good pilot--- but I've seen better, and yet again, I've seen worse. Time will tell, if this show's "fate" is worldwide phenomenon, or low-budget ripoff of a big blockbuster franchise. (It looks pretty big-budget to me so far though)

I watched both episodes tonight and I like the show. Lots of action and suspense.

So nice to see Summer Glau back on TV, She's going to be stealing a lot of scenes.
