In 1968, Groucho Marx's letters--from and to him--were acquired by the Library of Congress. They were also published in book form (both hardcover
and paperback editions). Here are a couple of excerpts from The Groucho Letters: Groucho Marx is the man who wrote to a Hollywood club, "Please accept my resignation. I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member." Groucho wrote to President Harry Truman: "If you want to come I can put you up. I have a swimming pool and a pool table ... if you are any good with a cue you could possibly win enough to pay your expenses." |
