About Netflix, the online video rental service that rents movies and television discs-- do you think that it is a good site if you want to test-drive a television disc set before you make the decision on whether or not to purchase it?

I've used NetFlix since this past August. I like it. And yes, I think so. I had *thought* of doing it last year about a certain show. But never did. (I ended up getting it for my birthday {last year}).

And you can put your membership on hold, I've done that. And I love the "unlimited" thing. Not to mention the no late fees thing and no S&H either. I've had one DVD for over a month. And I had it in my DVD Player for a solid two weeks.

Anyway...

It's also a good way to check out guest apperence spots of your favorite stars, etc. But don't rely on just typing their name into the Search Space. That does work, but I've tryped in some and something they are in (on DVD) would not be listed under their name. But I guess "you" could say it's fairly accurate.

i love netflix to preview tv series,in fact i watch more tv shows than movies.
now i'm watching buffalo bill,poirot,and big valley.
love it!

I've noticed that some studios release different dvd sets to Netflix than the ones available to purchase in stores. For example, The McMillian & Wife DVD set sold in stores contains 2 double-sided discs. The McMillian & Wife DVD set available to rent at Netflix is 4 single-sided discs. Remington Steele: Season 1 is 4 discs in stores and 7 discs on Netflix. So, it may take you longer to see a complete season of certain shows renting them than buying them.

I've rented more than television discs from Netflix--I've also rented some sports discs, namely a couple of Chicago Bears NFL game discs and one Los Angeles Lakers 1985 NBA Finals disc.

Yes, I'd recommend them to try it first.

yea, they do the same thing with "DALLAS". In stores or online, it's on double-sided discs, but they rent it as single-sided discs. I read that single-sided discs are easier to ship; or something.

I also love Netflix. I've been a member for 2 years, now.

And yes; I do think it's a good place to test-drive DVDs before you make the decision whether or not to buy them. I'm currently doing that with "DALLAS"-I used to watch it every week, and I loved it, but I want to see if it's as good as I remember. Also I don't have room for all of it!
