TV Sitcom TV Trivia

Barbara Feldon (Get Smart) was a fashion model. She was the Revlon
Girl ("Hey, Tiger?") in TV commercials.

TV Guide said of Donna Douglas (The Beverly Hillbillies): "Donna
Douglas did more for blue jeans in seven months than cowboys did in 110 years."

On the wedding episode of Get Smart, Don Adams' real-life wife Dorothy
played 99's bridesmaid.

During the Get Smart episode "Smart Fit the Battle of Jericho," Don
Adams was injured. While rehearsing a fight scene, the choreography became
a bit jumbled and Adams' nose met with a stunt double's fist. Production shut
down and Adams was rushed to the hospital and didn't return for more than a
week. News of his broken nose hit the press while photos of his swollen face
were printed in newspapers all around the country.

Alice Nelson's beau, Sam "The Butcher" Franklin on The Brady Bunch
was played by actor Allan Melvin, who was also the voice of cartoon star
Magilla Gorilla.

Brady Bunch producer Sherwood Schwartz's daughter Hope played
Greg's date in the episode "Greg Gets Grounded."

In real life, Robert Clary of Hogan's Heroes was a prisoner in German
concentration camps during World War II.

There were several pairs of shoe phones made during the original run of Get
Smart
, and Don Adams saved one for his own personal collection after the
series ended. He also liked the red convertible he drove as Maxwell Smart, so
he purchased the car for himself in the 1960s and later passed it on to his
children.

the "front" of the mansion on "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" was really the back. The owner wouldn't let them film the front of it.
Originally, Jed was going to be dumb; and Jethro the smart one. But Buddy Ebsen had them reverse it.
They first wanted to have the Clampetts move to New York, but then they realized that the location shooting would be too expensive.
Paul Henning (the creator and writer of some early episodes) didn't want the actors doing talk shows, etc. at first. He felt it would be "jarring" to viewers to see, say, pictures of Max Baer on a date with a young starlet, or Buddy Ebsen chatting it up with Jack Parr or Johnny Carson.

The house in "THE MUNSTERS" was actually pink, so it would look scary in black-and-white.
Al Lewis smoked cigars in real life and decided to have grandpa smoke them, so he could smoke them whenever he wanted.
They first wanted comedian Burt Lahr (the cowardly lion in "THE WIZARD OF OZ") to play grandpa.
Pat Priest co-starred with Elvis Presley in the movie "EASY COME, EASY GO".

Gary Burghoff was so disatisfied with Radar in MASH that he didn't wear his "Radar cap" in his final episode so people could see who he really is-a balding, middle aged, man.
Jamie Farr is actully from Toledo, Ohio.
In the final episode, a fire was written in because a fire really did break out and burned down the set during filming.
In the final O.R. scene, they were listening to Robert Pierpoint report on the end of the korean war for CBS radio. Robert Pierpoint really did that, they wanted to use the actual tapes but they were too scratchy. So, he agreed to re-record them.

the Clampetts are in a fancy Beverly Hills jewelry store. Granny points to a tray of rubies.

Granny: "How much fer one o' them red diamonds?"
clerk: "Madam, those are rubies."
Granny: "OK ask her kin we buy one offa her."
clerk: " The ruby I am talking about is not a lady."
Granny: "Lissen, how she got them diamonds is her business. I'm just sayin' ask her kin we buy one from her."
