Damn. Either we'll be saying goodbye to CD or goodbye to any plot realism they had in this show and hello to contrivance.

UNLESS, as someone else had suggested on this board earlier, Simon did do it and set it up to look like a suicide. But this whole story is far fetched.... I have a friend who is a forensic scientist with the Illinois State Police who told me right away they would have known if it was a suicide or not based on how the blood would have splattered on his hand.

Anyhow, I digress. This whole storyline is pissing me off. CD is my favorite, and even if Simon did do it, she has committed too many crimes here to walk away unscathed.

Contrivance is knocking on The Division's door.

Totally agreeing with you Coily. After this week's season finale we're gonna have to wait the entire to summer to say how they handle CD's storyline. Hopefully they'll take the summer to put some serious thought into what happened...

Maybe Simon did commit the suicide, and even wrote the note. But either way C.D. is going to be put on some major restriction for covering up thr truth--even if she thought it was best. It's also going to be interesting to see how Angela takes this news, considering she is all by the book...

I guess this episode will make or break C.D.'s career...or her plot line anyway.

Hey, or they might do a cliffhanger, resolving the whole thing next season.

And as for how will Angela react? Isn't CD some kind of role-model to her (I thought I heared something like that, at least that she's looking up to her). Will it crush her opinion on CD?

And as for not really punishing CD being unrealistic. I don't think so, I mean, Vitamin C and all, in real life that happens every day. I mean, I'm not saying it would be good to just forget about it. But it happens, that's life. "You know, he was her partner (maybe a father figure as well) he taught her everything, they were close friends, she panicked and thought she was doing the right thing. And she's such a great cop, nothing like that ever happened before, so lets just go on with life." C'mon, don't we see stuff like that happen in practically every TV show? and as I already said, in real life as well ...

------------------
GIRL: "She said he was good in bed. REALLY, REALLY, goood."
C.D.: "That narrows down the field."

C.D.: "What's that?"
Angela: "My checklist."
C.D.: "You forgot the most important thing."
Angela: "What's that?"
C.D.: "Lunch!"

Ummm... you are kidding, right? That does NOT happen in real life. When it does, it is a huge cover-up and a sign of serious corruption in your local police department. C.D. 1)tampered with evidence and 2)falsified reports, both illegal activities that could and should result in the termination of a police officer. Furthermore, she allowed tax payer dollars to be spent investigating a murder that never existed for several months (you better believe that the local press would have a field day with that one), and she seems at this point fully prepared to allow an innocent man take the heat for this. Even if he does turn out to be the killer (contrivance, is that you?), she still falsified reports and tampered with evidence.

I like C.D. alot - she's my favorite on this show. But the writers have really backed this one into a corner.

How naive are you? I'm not saying it's ok that it happens but of course it DOES happen, read some newspapers. Unless that's way different where you live from where I live.

But whatever CD rocks and I want her to stay!
BTW, doesn't that indicate that she isn't exactly THAT career driven? I mean if she were, I doubt that she had done it, because she might have considered what would happen if it came out.

I'm naive? You need to take off the rose colored glasses, sister. Thank you for demonstrating your mastery of the art of rhetoric by calling names. I'd suggest you chill out before you embarass yourself further. Please point me to a single case where a cop a) tampered with evidence, b) falsified official documents, and c) frames an innocent victim and keeps their job? If you can provide me a link to a news story, I will gladly admit defeat. I never said it doesn't happen, I said that it doesn't happen and the cop just gets a slap on the wrist. Poor judgement is not an attribute that is looked for in cops. There are plenty of people waiting to replace you. Large cities usually have a long waiting list of people who have passed the test waiting to enroll in the academy.

Since you seem to be taking this personally, I will state this again. I like C.D. I like Tracy. I don't want to to see the show without her. This has nothing to do with her. This has to do with the poor writing.

Ok yes it was wrong that CD never told but it was also incredibly hard on her. She lost a really good friend from the sound of it. She came to terms with the fact that Dick was dead which is a very difficult thing to do, when my grandpa died i never admitted it to myself until the funeral when i saw him in the casket. The same goes for when my friend committed suicide (Whole nother story do not ask) I came to terms with the fact she was dead, I still don't admit to myself that she killed herself. CD probably went through same thing, came to terms with the fact he died not that he killed himself. I doubt many of u have known someone who committed suicide and how hard that is to deal with, so LAY OFF!!

Phew, Geez, I don't take it personally, I would say the same if it was Jinny or Magda and not CD. Great that you like Tracey. I know that it is about the writing and I never said anything that indicates I thought it's about CD or Tracey. Furthermore I never called names, sister. And as for the rose colored glasses. Uhm, I'm not the one here who's saying there's no corruption around. Not only when it comes to cops but all kinds of branches. Fact is, that neither of us knows what will happen on the show. But what I do know (sorry, I can't give you a link) that this stuff does happen. Simply because of sympathy and friendship. Your boss might overlook your mistake and forgive you rather than fire you or sue you, meaning to lose a worker who has proved his qualitys on numerous occasions and never did anything wrong before and since this time it's absolutely understandable and have to replace you with a rookie of whom you have no idea what would come then. We're not talking about machines that you can replace and throw away when they're disfunctioning, but about human beings with personalitys and feelings, serving under and with other human beings with personalitys and feelings, who aren't perfect and made mistakes in their lifes as well here.

I have a few friends who are cops and I was asking them about this last night. They were saying that yes, what is happening is illegal and yes, there is no way that it would be covered up and the captain look the other way. See, most jobs will overlook a few mistakes. But in a profession like policework, bad judgement puts your life and the innocent lives of others into jeopardy. There is no room for bad judgement calls. We'll see where it goes, but I think we are losing all doses of reality with this storyline.

I also said it before, but I'll say it again. I have a friend who works in a forensics lab who told me that they probably would have know right off if it was a suicide or not based on blood patterns on the victims hand, so we may have already pitched reality into the garbage can well before C.D. came along.
