Idea for 2008: Postage Stamp for Jackie Gleason! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just replied to a message where I mentioned a postage stamp for Frank Sinatra and the bulb went off in my head ..... I think I realized what I'm going to try and do for 2008 but want to see if I have any support which I'm sure I would. Raise of hands .... who would like to see Jackie Gleason honored with a postage stamp from the United States Postal Service? Several comedians have been honored in the past, and since the Emmy Awards overlooked Gleason why not try to come together and start a petition to get Jackie a very special honor? Good idea, bad idea, suggestions?

I hope that everyone knows that when I posted this, I realized that this isn't something that a few letters written, a couple of calls and BAM! We have a stamp! This is something that may take years and years. I have been a member of the Three Stooges Fan Club since I was 9 or 10 (since 1988 or 1989) and I know that certain members have been trying for atleast that long to get the Boys a stamp so this may take some real doing. I think we owe it to Jackie as fans to get the ball rolling and see what can happen.
