Eddie Van Halen & Valerie Bertinelli Finalize Divorce - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Rocker Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli are officially divorced. The couple, who wed in 1981, are no longer husband and wife, according to court papers filed in Los Angeles.

The legal documents, released on Friday, read: "The parties have resolved all their issues amicably in mediation. Neither spouse shall take unfair advantage of the other spouse."

Bertinelli originally filed for divorce in December 2005.

The couple has a son, 16-year-old Wolfgang, who is currently on the road with his father's reunited band, Van Halen, having replaced original bassist Michael Anthony.

I always wondered what drove them apart? His drinking? Did he cheat? Was the stress of his medical problems too much for them to deal with?

I remember when they hooked up, I thought, "OH MY GOD, it won't last." Well they proved me and others wrong for a very very long time.

Too bad it didn't last.

They share custody of their son. He will be an adult in two years so they won't have to deal with that issue very long.

Mismatch is right! She was what every parent wanted their teenage daughter to BE, and he was what every parent wanted their teenage son NOT to be!
