Default Nick at Nite ratings increase

Nick at Nite targets families
Ratings increase with 'Home', 'Lopez' reruns

"Cyma Zarghami, president of Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite, says the image of the network as "the place for grownups to click on when the kids have gone to bed" is due for an overhaul."

I guess late night's on N@N have become the dumping ground for Stale Prince. They don't seem to care about anything beyond prime time. I think they are trying to turn N@N into an ABC Family like channel. I predict more original family programming on N@N in the future. If only they could add more variety in their overnights.

screw family programming!!!! seriously. Some of it's not bad but for gods sake, why go the way of The Disney Channel and play kiddie **** all night? Much like how adult programming isn't appropriate when the kids are awake, why play stuff that appeals mostly to 10 year olds at 2 am when only adults are up?

i think the Fresh Prince obsession will end soon enough. they've cut back on it since the summer and i have a feeling pretty soon George Lopez and/or Home Improvement will be the new FP.

When was the last time they had a prime time (or at least before midnight) Stale Prince marathon? I don't think since HI Or GL joined the lineup. I think FP will be gone (except for late night) when Family Matters comes. They could at least show Cosby and Roseanne after the kids have gone to bed. Do kids have later bedtimes now?

Whatever happened to the good ole days of Nick at Nite?
  • The Lucy Show
  • Laugh-In
  • My Three Sons
  • ANYTHING besides late 80s/90s sitcoms

I don't watch N@N anymore. It's lame. I want some shows that aren't available anywhere else.

I'm with you. Sure, thewy got a ratings increase, but by how much?

And yeah, latenight is nothing but a Fresh Prince dumping ground. It's not doing as well as Home Improvement and George Lopez, but it's done better than Roseanne and Cosby, so they air it all night starting at 11pm-LOL.

But, sticking up for NAN here, this is what happens when they give shows a chance. Instead of yeanking them off the lineup after 3 weeks, they stuck with them, and now they're doing well. Makes me wonder if that wouldhave happened if they stuck with their other shows they yanked off.

I could still see Fresh Prince on when Family Matters comes around. At this point, I'm not sure where it's gonna fit in the lineup if HI and GL are doing so god damn well, but FP will still be around.

Okay, I read the article. First off, do they mean overall as in they're going to hvae an overall, or this is the overall???

Also, I can't stand how they say Roseanne and Fresh Prince have been dragging down their lineup. It wasn't those 2 shows that did it, it was the programming choices to air these 2 shows all night that did it. And to think, when they're ratings are a record high in a long time when they're airing the lowest amount of shows ever on their schedule, that's just sad.

How much better can Home Improvement, George Lopez, and Fresh Prince reruns do compared to Roseanne and Cosby rerusn? That's what I'd like to know.

The article clearly said George Lopez is doing much better than what aired in November 2006 at 10pm...which I think was Roseanne. I told you all before it even started that George would do well. Home Improvement is also doing well, but not as well as George. While Fresh Prince is delivering in post-primetime. These 3 shows ARE Nick at Nite now (with an episode of Full House starting it off). Beats just Roseanne and Fresh Prince with a taste of Cosby Show of last year.

Family Matters is coming in March, right? YAY for airing the episodes out of order and changing it's timeslot every week. On the plus side, maybe we'll actually see the closing credits.

of course GL and HI are doing better now than Roseanne and Cosby did after 3-4 years on the network.

Personally, I'd say what N@N is today is a bigger "hell" than it was last year because at least I can watch Roseanne and Cosby Show.

I wish N@N would go back to the way they were before they started all the "superstar acquisitions", showing 10-15 shows a night and nothing aired more than twice. I don't like FP, HI or GL so I haven't had any desire to watch the channel in months

I watched FP and HI in their original runs and wasn't crazy about them then. Lopez is WAY too recent for N@N. 90's shows are recent enough, much less a show that premiered in 2002

I remember the times when I watched Fresh Prince (along with Blossom) religiously on NBC in the original run along with watching it in reruns for a while, I don't like it as much as I did when I was little, but I can still enjoy it in small does. But I'm just sick of it on N@N. They have the gall to blame the shows themselves for dragging the networks down but it's their own fault for airing FP, Roseanne, and other shows umpteen times every night with non-stop marathons. What they don't get is that marathons are fine every once in a while, but having them consistently for the mere hell of it takes the fun out of the concept. Networks and companies need to realize that fans of the respective shows that air endlessly enjoy more shows than just the same few over and over.

I don't even like Family Matters anymore, but regardless if I like it or not, I can see it becoming a huge success on N@N and it'll be rerun to death.

I don't even mind the concept of '80's/'90's sitcoms airing on N@N. That's not what bothers me in the slightest. They just need variety and to stop competing with themselves. It's like every show that didn't do as well as FP or Roseanne wound up getting the 5 am timeslot and then soon after got the shaft. I'm sick of networks thinking about the almighty dollar more than a good variety of shows airing each night. I fail to believe they'll go broke if they stick to a well-balanced lineup of shows where every series gets the amount of respect and airtime they deserve instead of one, two, or three overpowering the rest. Variety and a real schedule worked for so many years, why quit now?
