I think the 20th season is an nice round number for the show to end and since futurama is starting to come back I think the 20th season will be the last. |

As weird as it would be for it to be off the air, I'll be glad when the time comes for it to end. I love the show but given how the quality of it's been for the past several years, it's really been past time to go IMO

It would be weird without The Simpsons as part of Fox's dynamic sunday night lineup.

Seinfeld-The Simpsons go to jail after being criticized by every member of The Simpsons. Cheers-Moe has to close his bar once and for all. Mary Tyler Moore-Mr. Burns finally dies and his rival in Shelbyville buys the plant and keeps Smithers. Sopranos-Sideshow Bob gets released and his family try to find the next plan...but the screen goes blank because... Newhart-...Matt Groening wakes up and tells his wife about this dream that he had. (This part should be live-action.) |

I would like the final episode to feature all the characters from the show saying a special goodbye at the very end of the last episode. Maybe the story for the last episode can be a bunch of topics dealing with the important stories of the past, such as Sideshow Bob and Bart, Moe being lonely, Homer's addiction to beer, Lisa having trouble finding a friend, etc. I don't know if it's possible to find a way to sum up everything and deliver a satisfying conclusion, but just mentioning these topics is good enough for me.

Think about about it, there are people old enough to drink who weren't even born when the Simpsons started. Soon there will be legal age drinkers who weren't even conceived when the Simpsons started!
