Default I'm surprised this happens everytime I go to the doctor

Recepetionst: What's your name sir?

me: Solomon

Receptionist: Can you spell that for me?

me: Sure, all O's

Receptionist: HUH???

I figured everyone has seen the name or heard the name SOLOMON so when I say-"ALL O"s, I'm never expecting to hear someone say-"HUH??

Someone let me know if I'm saying somethign wrong-lol

The 'Huh' part is rude; I agree but to many people there are several different ways to spell a name or last name. I am having that situation right now with DH's last name . People want to put letters where they don't go or substitute 'e's for 'o's ect.

There are many poor spellers. I think your best best is to simply spell it, if you're asked. Your reply with 'All O's', only confuses a person who isn't a good speller to begin with.

Some people are terrible spellers. It's not always a sign of low intelligence either. My former boss was one of the smartest people I'd ever met, but she was a poor speller. Often times, a person has mild dyslexia. You never know. My husband can't spell to save his life, and he's a very smart man.

I always have to spell my name out if someone's going to write it down, and once in awhile I'll still get ASHLE-Y instead of ASHLE-E. Such a painnn, I'm to the point where I give up a lot of the time and just let people spell my name wrong.

Oh No I Get Mistaken For A Man Over The Telephone

The problem I have is sometimes, I get mistaken for a man over the telephone because I have a deep voice for a woman, and it's frustrating.
I will call to order food or anything for that matter, and the person will say
(ok sir or mr.) and I have to correct them. They do apologize for it though.

Anybody else with that problem?

My name is Monika with a "k" and not a "c", so you can imagine how many billions of times it's been misspelled over the years. So Ashlee, I totally understand where you're coming from. (Your new avatar is hilarious, btw. )

Why is the receptionist asking what your name is anyways? When I visit the doctor, they know who I am.

If I visit another doctor, I fill out the "sign in" sheet.

Was this your first visit?

Here I go, having to inquire because I need the whole story.
