Default If they always had intended Steve to end up with Laura...

... why did they even create the Myra character? It just sucks that there was a perfect girl for Steve, and he still had to end up with that shallow bitch Laura.

Well, maybe they thought that they wouldn't have him get Laura.

I don't have anything against Laura, at all. Maybe she's a little shallow. I think it's good that Steve got the girl of his dreams.

If it had been real life, there's no way that Steve would still have considered Laura as his "dream girl" after all those rejections. There's something called giving up and moving on, no matter how much you might loved a person at first. In real life, Steve would have stopped thinking about Laura early on, even as soon as he met that nerdy girl, who he "gave away" to the president of the chess club. And then of course we have Myra, who was nicer and prettier than Laura, and who loved Steve as he was from day one. Laura on the other hand wouldn't even be seen with Steve in public before he stopped wearing suspendors and doing some other "geeky" stuff and started lowering his voice. There's only one thing, that Steve shared with Laura, that he didn't share with Myra, and that was the principle of not having sex until they were married. But regarding everything else, Myra was still the girl for Steve, and Laura was just a shallow bitch.

Maybe he might not have given up in real life. Some people are really obsessed with other people to the point of stalking them 24/7 if they could.

Some people in real life never give up. I know my ex brother in law never gave up even after my sister got a restaining order against him.

That was my thought too. Steve was strong and had a great self-confidence and didn't give up. And Laura did like him much better in the later seasons.

But the way Steve kept wanting Laura, even after all those rejections, it almost made him seem like he was one of those psychopaths, who can't take no for an answer from someone they love. It wasn't cute at all, and them getting together in the end was just stupid. I still like Steve though, up to the 9th season.

Well, We have all different opinions. And there's nothing wrong with it. I thought it was cute that they finally got together.

I never could stand them as a couple. It was just wrong and phony.

I agree, the chemistry was no there for them as a couple.

I know, not only that, Myra's character was too one-dimensional. When you saw her, you knew what she was going to do. So there was no need for Myra.

Well, I totally like Myra. But since it seems like they always intended to hook up Steve with Laura, there was no point to add such a character.

You're right. Steve and Laura ended up together, so Myra was not needed. They dated for a couple years, but they did not end up. But, you already know. I prefer Steve and Laura. Myra was good, but kinda crazy.

I don't think Myra should have ever accepted the terms Steve gave in the first place. From the beginining Steve said if Laura ever starts having feelings for him, he would dump her. Think about it if a you love someone and they say to you I will date you but if the person I really love, loves me back, I am gone. Pretty shady deal.

Yeah, but Myra really loved Steve, so she took what she could get, I guess. And when Steve told her he was going to turn himself into Stephan for good in order to get the Laura bitch, he also told her "But you always knew this could happen." And her reply was "Yeah, but I thought you would change your mind, or that she would die." So she had obviously hoped Steve would give up on Laura, when he started dating her instead. And that's what he should have done too.
