Default Favorite Screen Santa Claus

Who is your favorite screen Santa Claus?

1. Edmund Gwenn ("Miracle on 34th Street")
2. Mickey Rooney ("Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town")
3. David Huddleston ("Santa Claus: The Movie")
4. Tim Allen ("The Santa Clause")
5. Ed Asner ("Elf")
6. Other

While Mickey Rooney gave a very good performance (using only his voice)
and David Huddleston seemed sincere (and had the aid of great special effects), for me Edmund Gwenn seemed more like "the real deal."

Tim Allen in The santa clause. Also Richard Attenborough in the 1994 re-make of A miracle on 34th street.

Edmund Gwenn - hands down. He also won an Oscar for the role. Not to be nitpicky, but shouldn't this thread be on the movie board?

Except that, technically, "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" wasn't a movie--it
was a TV special.

The original from Miracle on 34th street, Mr. Gwenn. Too bad this wasn't a poll.

I wanted to make it a poll, but I don't know how to do that.

O.K., folks. I figured out how to turn this question into a poll. So cast your
