I know in recent years music sales have collapsed because of the rise of illegal downloading/legal downloading/iPod's. I will be the first to admit that I download more than buy these days since an iPod is so convienient, but I also still purchase cd's by artists that I love and the sort. I sold off a lot of my cd's awhile back on ebay after I bought an iPod, but I also kept a lot of the ones I like the best because the sound quality is still better, especially if you listen to a lot of music while driving and the sort. Does anyone else still buy cd's and do the iPod thing at the same time?

The last CD I bought was the soundtrack for WALK THE LINE. Other than that, if I want a song for my iPod or player on my computer, I download, whether it is from a download service or from iTunes.
In the past two years the only CD's I bought, other than the one I mentioned above, have been hard-to-find CD's for only one song. I am an oldies fanatic and a lot of the songs that I have heard on Sirius satellite I can't find on the download service or iTunes. So, I go to this small oldies music store and order a CD that has the song I want. It is either Sirius radio or iPod in my car. No more CD's. |

I will admit I am too much of a control freak to listen to radio of any sort, if I wanna hear so-and-so, I'm gonna listen to them, haha.
However, I will admit that there are a lot of songs out there that I love to crank when I hear it, and even with an iPod adapter in the car, the sound quality won't tune up as loud as I want |

I, like you, am a control freak too when it comes to music in the car. I can't stand commercials, I can't stand hearing a D.J. talking endlessly, I want MUSIC! And there are times I want to hear what I am in the mood for. If Sirius doesn't deliver, my iPod will.

All I do for music is buy CD's. I prefer them, and I hope they don't go the way of the LP's!

It could be the adaptor if it sounds bad all the time regardless of what car you plug it into. |

![]() Oh wow, it really could be the adaptor then. My daughter's friend had an adaptor but when I went to buy the same one, my daughter told me not to buy that one because it didn't sound very good when she used it in her car. So I spent more for another one. I have no idea if that makes a difference. |

There has been absolutely nothing released in many years that I want, so no. Last CDs I remember buying were in 97 or 98.

I still buy CDs. I'm old school when it comes to music. I have no interest in downloading.
