I haven't seen it, but since I really don't like her, everything that she does looks silly. So I'll take your word for it.

actually, "Upgrade U" is one of her songs.

What's to dislike about her? she's arguably the only true "diva" to come out over the past ten years. Britney lacks the voice, Alicia Keys lacks the presence, Christina frankly takes too long of breaks between albums, etc...

OMG I adore Alicia. She is graceful, she is beautiful, she has a voice, she has the knack to know how to give her audience what they want, she can play instruments and write songs, etc.

And, she doesn't go out with wanna be thugs like Jay Z.

Alicia is an amazing artist and very beautiful, as if she lacks stage presence i prefer her performances than someone swinging themselfs around on stage.

when I saw Dreamgirls, the audience stood up and cheered after "Listen". Beyonce is a good singer, she just doesn't overdo it these days, even tho a few years back she annoyingly oversang.

Alicia may have a better singing voice but Beyonce is far more of a fun performer and entertainer. She is also trying to appeal to more than just the r&b audience, she's doing the pop thing, the dance thing, even flirting with country, etc... Beyonce is the only female singer who has come out in the past decade or so that I think truly has what it takes to be a "diva" in the vein of Diana Ross (she essentially played Diana in Dreamgirls), Cher, Barbra Streisand, etc...

When I see an entertainer like Alicia Keys who doesn't need all these dancers parading around her or surrounding her, so I can merely focus on her singing and playing the piano, that to me is being a performer and a great one. Cher was all abt costumes and singing. She needed no one else, the stage was hers. Same thing with Barbara, it's all abt her on stage. I can't stand when singers feel the need to have so many dancers and people on stage, that is just distracting. Maybe for a concert and for a few songs, but not all around you for every single performance you do. Beyonce is talented, no doubt abt that, but I put Alicia up on a higher level as an overall entertainer.

As a matter of fact, I avoided watching Dreamgirls because of Beyonce. I hate having things shoved in your face everywhere you turn.

well, you might love Dreamgirls if only for the moment where Effie (Jennifer Hudson) says "Deena's (Beyonce) nowhere as good of a singer as I am" and Deena agrees with her

Well then, let me go rent the movie...how much do I need to fast forward for that scene?
